The Goalie Situation For The St. Louis Blues

Well, Jake Allen escaped January, the Alcatraz of months, the albatross on his past two seasons. And in his first February start, the big-contract goalie was stupendous, stopping 43 Boston shots.

So you could ask — why isn’t he the Blues’ No. 1 goalie?

But Carter Hutton is playing like Jake in that Boston game in every game. He’s won his past four starts, with two shutouts, and allowed just a goal in each of the other two.

So you could ask — why isn’t he the Blues’ No. 1 goalie?

“I don’t want to say that it’s a problem, but if we were, we’d say it was a good problem (to have),” coach Mike Yeo said.
