Well, Jake Allen escaped January, the Alcatraz of months, the albatross on his past two seasons. And in his first February start, the big-contract goalie was stupendous, stopping 43 Boston shots.
So you could ask — why isn’t he the Blues’ No. 1 goalie?
But Carter Hutton is playing like Jake in that Boston game in every game. He’s won his past four starts, with two shutouts, and allowed just a goal in each of the other two.
