Did Tie Domi, a role player whose skills are limited almost entirely to fighting, have anything to do with the dismissal of coach Pat Quinn? Commentator Bill Watters, a former Leafs executive, suggested yes, because of Domi's close friendship with Larry Tanenbaum, who is the chairman of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, the company that owns the Leafs. It's been widely speculated that Tanenbaum last summer directly or indirectly influenced Ferguson's decision to give the 36-year-old Domi, whom many felt was finished, a two-year contract worth $1.25-million annually.
