from Joe Haggerty of CSNNE,
With the Bruins now down Torey Krug and David Krejci along with bottom six centers Joonas Kemppainen and Chris Kelly, the B’s are digging into their organizational depth for puck-moving defensemen and men in the middle. Krug skated prior to the B’s team practice on Monday morning at TD Garden, but didn’t join the team for the group skate that followed for roughly 30 minutes following back-to-back losses last weekend.
He’s listed as “day-to-day” with an upper body injury while playmaking center David Krejci is “week-to-week” with an upper body injury that certainly looked like a right shoulder issue after absorbing a big hit from Bobby Ryan on Sunday night. Together the B’s are looking at soldiering on without two of their best offensive playmakers amidst a stretch where Boston has managed just four goals in losing three straight games.
The center position is tremendously important in Claude Julien’s system relying on disciplined two-way play, and now they’re missing three strong options down the middle.
