from Chris Smith of Forbes,

The Forbes SportsMoney Index is the definitive ranking of the sports business world's most influential teams, athletes, brands and agencies, and it updates throughout the year to account for the latest financial data. So when we published our updated NHL team valuations last week, revealing that the average NHL team is now worth nearly $600 million, good for a 15% year-over-year increase, it was sure to have an impact on the SMI. And sure enough, those surging values are pushing hockey's top teams up the ranks.

The Blackhawks remain the top NHL team, now at No. 130 in the SMI. They're hockey's fourth-most valuable team at $1 billion, up 8% over last year, and employ two of the sport's highest-paid players in Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.
