from Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun,
The longer a series goes, the better the St. Louis Blues get.
This much they have proven.
In Games 5, 6 and 7 through the first three rounds of these National Hockey League playoffs, St. Louis had a record of 6-1 and outscored its opponents 23-9.
Ultimately, the Blues grind you to dust.
“I think we can see it throughout games and throughout series,” captain Alex Pietrangelo said Wednesday. “It’s tough minutes to play against our forward lines when they’re playing the way they can. Not necessarily anything to look for, you can see the momentum we create by our line changes in the offensive zone. We’re just using all four lines. If I was a defenceman (on the other team), that would be tough to defend against.”...
Neither the Blues nor the Boston Bruins has been able to put together back-to-back wins in this series, possibly, it was suggested, because losses are still fresh on the mind.
“I think it’s a little easier this series because you get two days in between,” Pietrangelo said. “I think we’ve pretty much played every day for the entire playoffs until this series.
“We came here a day early and got an opportunity to refocus and get ready.”
