The Coyotes again failed to play a complete 60 minutes of hockey, an omission that cost them their fourth straight defeat, a loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night. In 19 games, the Coyotes are still without a single win in regulation.
After scoring the first goal of the game for the 13th time in 19 contests, the Coyotes (2-14-3) failed to hold the lead and suffered a 4-1 loss to the Jets (9-4-3) at Gila River Arena.
The Coyotes (2-14-3) will now travel to Winnipeg for the second game of a home-and-home on Tuesday that marks the beginning of a four-game road trip. Saturday was just the Coyotes’ third home game in their past 11 contests.
“I liked our effort (tonight),” Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. “We’ve been traveling everywhere and I’ve got to give the guys credit. The guys have not complained and they’ve done a nice job in that way. We’ve just got to find some guys to make some plays. That’s the key for us right now.”
