(Oct. 7, 2015) – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward Scott Gomez to a one-year contract.
Gomez, 35, logged 34 points (seven goals, 27 assists) and 23 penalty minutes in 58 regular season games with New Jersey in 2014-15.
The 5’11, 198-pound forward is a 15-year National Hockey League (NHL) veteran, including stints with New Jersey, New York (Rangers), Montreal, San Jose and Florida. He is a two-time NHL All-Star (2000, 2008) and won the 2000 Calder Trophy Award as the League's top rookie.
In 1,045 career regular season games, Gomez has accumulated 747 points, including 180 goals and 567 assists - which ranks 11th among active skaters. In addition, the Anchorage, Alaska, native ranks sixth among active skaters with 149 career postseason games, while his 101 career playoff points (29 goals, 72 assists) are 14th among active players. Gomez is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, winning with New Jersey in 2000 and 2003.
