SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has re-signed defenseman Brenden Dillon (@BDillon4) to a five-year contract.
Dillon, 24, recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and 77 penalty minutes in 80 games with both Dallas and San Jose last season. Acquired from Dallas in November 2014, Dillon ranked 3rd on San Jose in penalty minutes (54), hits (127) and his 19:13 average ice time per game ranked 6th on the team in 60 games with the Sharks. He finished ranking 4th on San Jose in blocked shots (110).
"Brenden is an important part of this team going forward and we look forward to him playing an integral role on our blueline for years to come," said Wilson. "He's a great fit for our organization now and for the future and we're excited to watch him blossom here in San Jose."
