By Joe Sudberg,

During this weekend’s slate of NHL games, a rematch of last season’s Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning will take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The last time these two teams met, the Blackhawks were celebrating their second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons on their home ice after capturing Game 6. It was the first time the two teams had ever met in the playoffs and the stakes were at their highest.

The teams now are not the same as last year’s Final matchup due to offseason changes, but some core players on each side still have either fond memories or lavish nightmares depending on who is asked. This season, the Blackhawks have had a slightly slower start than the Lightning.

The Blackhawks have played six games and have three wins and three losses, with 14 goals for and 14 goals against. The Lightning have played seven games, winning four and losing two with an overtime shootout loss thrown in. Tampa Bay’s offense has been electric scoring 23 goals thus far to be tied atop the entire NHL (Canadiens have 23 goals for) but on the flip side, have given up 20 goals.

Currently, two players from last year’s Final matchup lead their team in points as Patrick Kane has four goals and three assists for seven points and Steven Stamkos has already poured in five goals with one assist to bring his point total to six. Tyler Johnson, one of the impressive young talents who had an incredible showing in last season’s Final hasn’t found the back of the net yet but has dished out four helpers.

Secondary market tickets for the Blackhawks and Lightning game is the fourth most expensive game of the weekend, according to TiqIQ.com. The average ticket price is $168.18 with a get-in price of only $9. The most expensive game this weekend in a Canadian clash against the Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs at Centre Bell with an average ticket price of $219.65 and a get-in price of $78.

Lightning fans not over last year’s finals result can try and recover some satisfaction by seeing Tampa Bay take on the Blackhawks in person. Affordable airfare to Chicago on Hipmunk.com, in addition to being able to reserve hotels near the United Center on Hipmunk, can complete the hockey weekend getaway.
