from Andrew Gross of Ranger Rants,
As was indicated after Saturday’s 5-3 loss at St. Louis, the Rangers certainly do have questions about Marty Biron’s suitability to be their backup goalie this season.
GM Glen Sather said today as the Rangers began their noon practice that Biron and right wing Arron Asham are indeed both on waivers today. There is a 24-hour period prior to noon tomorrow in which either can be claimed by another team. After that, either veteran can be re-assigned to Hartford (AHL).
While the Rangers practiced, Rick Nash, who was sent home from the road trip on Thursday with a head injury sustained in the first period of Tuesday’s 9-2 loss at San Jose, is not on the ice with the team. Nash was said to be at the practice facility earlier in the day, likely for re-evaluation, but did not skate or work out off ice.
