Boyle’s previously impressive career skidded in the Big Apple and ended appropriately with coach Alain Vigneault healthy scratching Boyle in the Rangers’ Game 5 elimination loss to the Penguins on Saturday.
So Boyle took it out on the media, insisting he would not begin his interview until Brooks left the vicinity.
“I don’t want you here. I don’t f---ing respect you,” Boyle said, making sure everyone else in the room heard. “I have no respect for you.”
Brooks replied: “You know what? The feeling’s mutual.”
Boyle lashed out: “At least I’m leaving here with the respect of my teammates, instead of f---ing somebody like you that tries to bury somebody. That’s all you do. I don’t want you here. I have no respect for you. I want you to get the f--- out. I can tell you to get the f--- out if I want to. I want him out and the other f---ing clown, Brett, whatever the f--- his name is, where’s he at?”
