Picking A Team Or Two

02/28/2020 at 1:40pm EST

Pressure is on, teams are battling for a playoff spot and it feels like the Stanley Cup Playoffs has started in late February.

Drama has never been higher this season with about 22 teams fighting for a playoff spot.

When my team was involved in the play hunt, I would visit sites like SportsBettingDime.com to see who has an advantage in a game. They offer real-time NHL odds, that are updated with new games daily and a very good resource for you to break down an upcoming game.

For example, Calgary visits Tampa Bay Saturday afternoon and the Flames are hot. But hot enough to be the Lightning?

Any advantage you can have would be of help, so why not take advantage of it. Even with Steven Stamkos probably out, I am going against my brain's choice and picking the Bolts.

Another key game Saturday night is the Vancouver Canucks are in Toronto to face the Leafs Saturday night with both teams in the playoff hunt.

You can gain an advantage and probably not what most people would think, I am taking the Canucks in this game. The Leafs are so up and down lately and I expect them to be down when the face the Canucks.

When trying to pick a game, fans want an advantage any way they can get it. Watching the game is more enjoyable when you can have as much information as you can. Then it is up to you to use it to your advantage and go from there.

As fans all we can do is watch. Sure, the backwards rally hat may come in handy at times (don't believe it) and standing or sitting in the same spot works too (again, don't believe). But actually having information which may help your team win is real, and many use sources to get the results they want.

My suggestion is as always, enjoy the game you are watching, heck there isn't much else to do. Sure we all yell at the TV screen at times, stomp up and down, but the outcome remains the same.

Use what you can to your advantage, process it then let your hockey mind kick in.
