from Paul Skrbina of The Tennessean,
One player requested a Gatorade, a Pedialyte and an IV after the Predators finished practice Wednesday.
He wasn't joking after the team was put through a physically demanding rehearsal at Centennial Sportsplex.
The antidote was necessary because of the night before, when the Predators were, in coach Peter Laviolette's words, "completely outworked" by the Carolina Hurricanes during a 4-1 loss at Bridgestone Arena.
It didn’t matter to Laviolette that the game didn’t matter.
“They were playing in fourth and fifth gear and we were stuck in mud," he said Tuesday night. “It’s never going to look good, the results usually aren’t going to go your way. We were too slow and not competitive enough.”
Laviolette called the Predators’ performances in their two preseason home games “unacceptable” and said “that’s gotta change.”
