DID YOU KNOW?
* Teams leading 3-2 in the Stanley Cup Final have won 28 of 36 series (77.8%) since the best-of-seven format was introduced in 1939. (Elias)

* Twenty of those teams won in six games (55.6%). Eight won in seven games (22.2%).

* Eight teams have overcome a 3-2 series deficit to win the Stanley Cup Final (22.2%).

* Those eight teams: the 1942 Maple Leafs (vs. Red Wings), 1950 Red Wings (vs. NY Rangers), 1964 Maple Leafs (vs. Red Wings), 1971 Canadiens (vs. Blackhawks), 2001 Avalanche (vs. Devils), 2004 Lightning (vs. Flames), 2009 Penguins (vs. Red Wings) and 2011 Bruins (vs. Canucks).

* Teams have split the opening four games of the Stanley Cup Final 22 times since the best-of-seven format was introduced in 1939. The team winning Game 5 has gone on to capture the Cup 15 times (68.2%). However, the team losing Game 5 has rebounded to win the series on four of the past six occasions (all since 2001).

BERGERON, TOEWS UPDATES
Bruins head coach Claude Julien said forward Patrice Bergeron is “day-to-day” after missing most of Game 5 with a “body” injury. Bergeron leads all players with four goals in the Stanley Cup Final and has 6-2—8 in his last eight games overall. He also leads the League in faceoff winning percentage during the playoffs (61.9%).

Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said he is “optimistic” captain Jonathan Toews will be able to play tonight after sitting the entire third period of Game 5 with an upper-body injury. Toews has 1-2—3 in the last two games while playing on a line with Patrick Kane and Bryan Bickell. He leads the Blackhawks in faceoff winning percentage (52.8%) and is tied for first on the club in assists (10) this postseason.

GAME 6 NOTES
* The Bruins are 0-1 in Game 6s this postseason. The Blackhawks are 1-0.

* The referees for tonight’s game are Wes McCauley (#4) and Dan O’Halloran (#13). The linesmen are Pierre Racicot (#65) and Jay Sharrers (#57).

TEAM LEADERS
Boston forward Milan Lucic and Chicago forward Patrick Kane pace all players in the Stanley Cup Final with 3-2—5 through five games. Lucic has 3-5—8 in his last nine games overall, while Kane has 7-2—9 in his last seven . . . Boston forward David Krejci leads all players with four assists in the Stanley Cup Final. He also leads the League with 9-16—25 in the 2013 playoffs . . . Chicago forward Dave Bolland ranks second on the Blackhawks with 2-2—4 in the Stanley Cup Final. Bryan Bickell, Michael Frolik and Michal Rozsival share the team lead with three assists each in the series.

HOME VS. ROAD
The Bruins are 8-3 at home this postseason, including a 7-1 record in their last eight at TD Garden. They have outscored opponents, 33-23, on home ice in the playoffs.

The Blackhawks are 4-5 as visitors this postseason; their four road victories rank second in the NHL, behind only Boston’s six (6-4). Chicago had a League-leading 18-4-2 record away from home during the regular season.

RECORD-SETTING YEAR
Home teams are 59-26 in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs (.694), an NHL record for most wins by home clubs in a single postseason. The previous mark of 57 was set during the 1991 playoffs (92 games). Home teams are guaranteed to have a postseason winning percentage of .600 or higher for the first time since 1993, when they went 52-33 (.612).
