HURRICANES, OILERS SNAP OPPOSITION’S WIN STREAKS
The Hurricanes and Oilers both earned victories to halt their respective opponents’ win streaks:

* Despite surrendering 1-0 and 3-2 leads, Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen both scored in the shootout to help the Hurricanes (10-8-4, 24 points) improve to 6-3-1 in their past 10 contests and snap Nashville’s four-game win streak.

* Ryan Strome’s fourth goal of the season at 2:07 of the third period stood as the game-winner and helped the Oilers(9-13-2, 20 points) end the Bruins’ season high four-game win streak. Connor McDavid (10-20—30 in 24 GP)collected 0-2—2 to move into a tie with Blues forward Brayden Schenn (10-20—30) for sixth in League scoring.

BLUE JACKETS AIM FOR SEVENTH STRAIGHT VICTORY
The Blue Jackets (15-7-1, 31 points) look to earn their seventh consecutive victory – which would be the longest such streak in the NHL this season – when they visit the Canadiens (9-12-3, 21 points).

* Columbus is aiming for its first seven-game win streak since a 16-game run from Nov. 29, 2016 – Jan. 3, 2017, the second-longest win streak in NHL history.

* Sergei Bobrovsky has been in net for the entirety of the current six-game win streak, posting a 6-0-0 record with a 0.98 goals-against average, .966 save percentage and two shutouts over that span.
