CLUBS CONTINUE SUCCESS AS VISITORS
The Rangers (32-18-1, 65 points), Senators (27-16-6, 60 points) and Jets (25-25-4, 54 points) each secured road victories to build on recent strings of success as visitors:
* Chris Kreider scored with 1:04 remaining in overtime to reach the 20-goal mark for the third consecutive season and guide the Rangers to their NHL-leading 18th road win of the season (18-7-0, 36 points).
* Mark Stone (2-1—3) and Erik Karlsson (0-3—3) each collected three points as the Senators improved to 4-1-0 in their last five road games. Former Lightning head coach Guy Boucher earned the win in his return to Tampa Bay.
* Mark Scheifele (2-0—2) registered his third multi-goal game of the season as the Jets improved to 3-0-0 on their four-game road trip. Scheifele has scored in three consecutive games (4-3—7) and leads the club with 25-28—53 this season (51 GP).
BOB PLAGER’S NO. 5 RETIRED IN ST. LOUIS
The Blues retired former defenseman Bob Plager’s No. 5 in a pre-game ceremony at Scottrade Center, the seventh player in franchise history to receive the honor.
* Plager joined the Blues for their inaugural campaign in 1967-68 and collected 20-121—141 in 615 games across 11 different seasons with the club.
* His No. 5 joins Al MacInnis' No. 2, Bob Gassoff's No. 3, his older brother Barclay Plager's No. 8, Brian Sutter's No. 11, Brett Hull's No. 16 and Bernie Federko's No. 24.
MARLEAU REACHES 500-GOAL MILESTONE IN SHARKS VICTORY
Patrick Marleauscored the 500th goal of his NHL career to help the Pacific Division-leading Sharks (33-17-2, 68 points) pick up their eighth win in their last nine games.
* Marleau became the first player in franchise history to score 500 career goals with the Sharks. He also became the fifth active player in the NHL to reach the milestone, joining Jaromir Jagr (758), Jarome Iginla (617), Alex Ovechkin (550) and Marian Hossa (518).
* The 37-year-old veteran has scored seven times on his active five-game point streak (7-1—8), which included a four-goal third period on Jan. 23 at COL.

Paul Stastny (2-1—3) reached the 200-goal milestone to help Mike Yeo earn a 5-1 win in his first game as head coach of the Blues . . . Pekka Rinne made 31 saves to register his second shutout of the season (42nd career) as the Predators improved to 5-1-1 in their last seven games . . . Matt Read scored the go-ahead marker to end a 26-game goalless drought and guide the Flyers to their fourth win in their last five contests . . . Sharks forward Joe Thornton (380-994—1,374) collected an assist to tie Mike Modano (561-813—1,374) for 23rd on the NHL’s all-time points list . . . Senators forward Chris Kelly scored while skating in the 800th game of his NHL career . . . Oilers forward Milan Lucic skated in the 700th game of his NHL career . . . Bryan Little (7-4—11 in 7 GP), Jamie Benn (4-3—7 in 5 GP) and Zack Smith (3-4—7 in 5 GP) each extended point streaks . . . The Canucks hosted their Canadian Forces Appreciation Night at Rogers Arena . . . NHL Network will look back at the making of the counter-culture hit movie Slap Shot and explore its status today as a cult classic in NHL Network Originals: Slap Shot at 40 on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Slap Shot at 8:30 p.m. ET . . . The Penguins unveiled the equipment they will wear for the 2017 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series.
