MARLEAU NETS WINNER (AGAIN) IN SHARKS’ SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN
Patrick Marleau scored the game-winner with 4:33 remaining in regulation to lead the Sharks to their sixth straight victory, reclaiming the top spot in the Pacific Division (31-16-2, 64 points).

* Marleau, who sits two goals shy of 500 in his NHL career, also scored the game-winning goal on Monday at COL when he matched an NHL record with four goals in a period. Elias notes that he became the first Sharks player to score a game-winning goal on consecutive days since Marc-Edouard Vlasic did so on Jan. 5 and 6, 2015.

* Marleau’s game-winning goal was the 97th of his career, putting him in a tie with Jarome Iginla for ninth on the NHL’s all-time list, one back of Bobby Hull and Guy Lafleur who each have 98.

* Brent Burns opened the scoring with his 21st goal of the season. Burns, who leads all defensemen and ranks fourth in the NHL with 21-30—51 this season, has found the score sheet in nine of his last 11 games (6-10—16).

WILD ESTABLISH FRANCHISE RECORD ROAD POINT STREAK
Chris Stewart scored the deciding goal in the fifth round of the shootout as the Wild extended their road point streak to 13 games (11-0-2) to establish a franchise record, besting the previous mark of 12 games set from Feb. 18 – April 9, 2015 (12-0-0).

* Devan Dubnyk (35 saves) has won each of his last nine road appearances and improved to 26-8-3 overall (1.91 GAA, .935 SV%, 5 SO). His goals-against average and save percentage lead all goaltenders.

SABRES COME BACK TO EARN ANOTHER OVERTIME VICTORY
The Sabres tied the game three times and overcame a multi-goal deficit in the final 5:50 of regulation before Jack Eichel (2-0—2) scored in overtime to lift the club to its third consecutive overtime victory.

* Buffalo has earned three consecutive overtime victories for just the second time in franchise history (also Nov. 5, 10 and 11, 2006). Prior to this run, the Sabres were 3-9 past regulation in 2016-17, including two overtime wins.

BLUES, SENATORS POST SHUTOUTS TO SNAP STREAKS
Both the Senators (26-15-5, 57 points) and Blues (24-19-5, 53 points) earned shutouts to end their opponents’ lengthy point streaks:

* Mike Condon (31 saves) earned his fourth shutout of the season as Ottawa halted Washington’s 14-game point streak (12-0-2), improving to 4-0-1 in their last five contests. The Senators hold second spot in the Atlantic Division, where teams Nos. 2-8 are separated by only eight points.

* Carter Hutton (34 saves) picked up his second shutout of the season to help St. Louis snap a three-game slide and deliver Pittsburgh their first regulation loss at home since Nov. 21 (13-0-1). The Blues maintain the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, one point behind the Predators (23-17-8, 54 points) for third place in the Central Division.
