BLUES' SCORING LEADER MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN WINTER CLASSIC WIN
Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko tallied a pair of third-period goals to break a 1-1 tie, lifting St. Louis to a 4-1 victory over Chicago in the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, their first appearance in an NHL regular-season outdoor game.

* The Blues' leading scorer in 2015-16 following a 40-goal campaign (40-34—74 in 80 GP) and to date in 2016-17 (18-23—41 in 38 GP), Tarasenko also has enjoyed success against the Blackhawks, tallying 14 goals and 20 points in the past 19 games against his Central Division rival (regular-season and playoffs).

* Tarasenko – who snapped a selfie with fans after the game – ranks fourth in the NHL scoring race, two points behind both Evgeni Malkin (16-27—43 in 38 GP) and Connor McDavid (14-29—43 in 38 GP) and one point back of Sidney Crosby (26-16—42 in 32 GP).

* Alexander Steen (1-1—2) notched his 300th career assist and 500th career point on the Blues’ opening goal before scoring into an empty net late in the third period (201-300—501).

* One day after the Maple Leafs captured the 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic in Toronto, the Blues became just the seventh home team to win a regular-season outdoor NHL game (21 GP: 7-12-2).
