HURRICANES, BLUES EXTEND WINNING STREAKS
The Hurricanes and Blues both mounted comebacks to extend their winning streaks to five and four games, respectively:

* Behind 1-0 less than six minutes after the opening face-off, the Hurricanes potted two unanswered goals to stretch their winning streak to five contests, their longest such run since Dec. 31, 2013 – Jan. 9, 2014 (5-0-0). Cam Ward (25 SV), who has been in net for all five games, owns a 1.00 goals-against average, .962 save percentage and one shutout in that span.

* Down 2-1 midway through the second period, the Blues scored three unanswered goals to push their overall winning streak to four games and snap their road skid at four contests (0-4-0). Jori Lehtera (2-0—2) registered his third career multi-goal performance and first since April 11, 2015 vs. MIN (2-0—2).

LOOSE PUCKS
Road teams swept Tuesday’s five games to improve to 113-132-42 this season . . . Goaltender Steve Mason made a season-high 38 saves to help the Flyers pick up points for the fourth time in their past five outings (3-1-1) . . . Defenseman Nick Leddy scored in the 14th round to lead the Islanders over the Ducks in the longest shootout in each franchise’s history . . . Bruins forward David Backes potted the opening goal in his first game against his former team, the Blues. Backes totaled 206-254—460 during his first 10 NHL seasons in St. Louis (727 GP) . . . Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber (1-1—2) recorded his League-leading seventh power-play goal of 2016-17. He also paces all blueliners with eight total goals . . . Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech scored his first NHL goal (15 GP) . . . The Sharks signed defenseman Brent Burns to an eight-year contract extension . . . NBCSN DOUBLEHEADER HEADLINES 12-GAME SLATE
The night before U.S. Thanksgiving features a 12-game NHL slate, highlighted by a national doubleheader on NBCSN. First, the Flyers complete the second half of back-to-back outings when they visit the Lightning at Amalie Arena as part of NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry. Two of the Western Conference’s top teams then face off when the Blackhawks meet the Sharks at SAP Center in the nightcap.

VEGAS FRANCHISE UNVEILS TEAM NICKNAME, LOGO
The Las Vegas expansion team announced that it will be known as the Vegas Golden Knights. The long-awaited name of the city’s first major league sports franchise was revealed on Tuesday during a public ceremony outside T-Mobile Arena.

The team’s colors – steel grey, gold, red and black – reflect the community and focus of the franchise. Drawing on themes associated with knights, the helmet in the team’s logo includes a ‘V’ to represent Las Vegas. The secondary logos include swords that create the star from the iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign.
