HIGH-POWERED OFFENSE LEADS CLUBS TO CONVINCING WINS
The Blackhawks, Lightning, Ducks and Predators all rode big offensive performances to open the month of November with victories:

* The line of Patrick Kane (1-2—3), Artem Anisimov (1-1—2) and Artemi Panarin (1-1—2) combined for seven points to lead the Blackhawks to their third consecutive win and a 6-1-1 run since starting the season with a pair of losses. Anisimov, who leads the League in points (7-6—13) and goals (tied), extended his career-high point streak to eight games.

* The Lightning scored the opening six goals, led by 2-2—4 from Nikita Kucherov, to snap a three game losing skid (0-3-0). Kucherov matched his career high for points in a game, originally set just last week (1-3—4 on Oct. 25 at TOR) and is tied for second in League scoring (3-9—12 in 9 GP). Captain Steven Stamkos (1-1—2) scored his League-leading (tied) seventh goal of the season (7-5—12 in 10 GP).

* Rickard Rakell notched 1-2—3 while skating in his first game of the season to help the Ducks jump out to a 4-0 lead en route to a shutout victory over the rival Kings. Anaheim also received multi-point efforts from Ryan Kesler (1-1—2), Antoine Vermette (1-1—2) and Corey Perry (0-2—2). John Gibson made 30 saves to earn his first shutout of the season (seventh career).

* Craig Smith (2-0—2), Ryan Johansen (1-1—2), Filip Forsberg (0-2—2) and James Neal (0-2—2) all picked up multi-point nights to help the Predators snap a three-game losing streak (0-2-1).

OVERTIME THRILLERS
The Maple Leafs, Blue Jackets and Senators all secured overtime victories on Tuesday:

* On a night the hockey world was tuning in to see the first NHL meeting between Connor McDavid (22:46 TOI, 4 shots) and Auston Matthews (19:28 TOI, 6 shots) – the last two first overall picks in the NHL Draft – Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri stole the show with 2-0—2 including the overtime winner 12 seconds into the extra frame. Per Elias, it marked the second-fastest overtime goal by a Maple Leafs player since regular-season overtime was reinstituted in 1983-84 (Mats Sundin: 0:06 on Dec. 30, 1995 at STL).

* Blue Jackets forward Sam Gagner tied the game with 16 seconds remaining in regulation and defenseman Seth Jones scored his second career overtime winner. Per Elias, it marked the second time in franchise history Columbus scored a game-tying goal in the final 16 seconds of regulation and went on to win; Cam Atkinson tied the game at 19:52 of the third period in a 3-2 SO W vs. PHI on March 22.

* Kyle Turris scored his fifth career overtime goal, all with the Senators, to pass Daniel Alfredsson (4) into sole possession of second in franchise history, behind Mike Fisher (7).
