HOSSA HITS 500-GOAL MILESTONE
Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa became the 44th player in NHL history to reach the 500-goal plateau when he scored a second-period power-play goal against the Flyers. Hossa is just the fourth active player to reach the milestone, behind Jaromir Jagr (749), Jarome Iginla (612) and Alex Ovechkin (526).

* Hossa is also within reach of two other career milestones – he sits seven assists shy of 600 and seven points from 1,100.

* ICYMI: A breakdown of Hossa’s 500 career goals by franchise opponent.

OVECHKIN, KANE NOTCH FIRST GOALS OF SEASON
Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin (1-1—2) and Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane (1-3—4) – the top two goal-scorers from last season – each recorded their first goal of 2016-17. Ovechkin led the League in 2015-16 with 50 goals, capturing the Rocket Richard Trophy for the sixth time in his career and fourth consecutive season. Kane, last season’s Hart Trophy winner, reached career highs in goals (46), assists (60) and points (106) in 2015-16 en route to becoming the first U.S.-born player in NHL history to lead the League in scoring.

60 IS NOT ENOUGH
The Canucks, Lightning and Flames came away with wins on Tuesday night in games that featured extra time.

* Bo Horvat scored the tying goal with 2:55 remaining in regulation and captain Henrik Sedinfinished a nifty passing play to give the Canucks an overtime victory and a 3-0-0 record to start the season. Per Elias, the Canucks are the first team in NHL history to win their first three games of a season while never leading in regulation in any of those games.

* In Tampa Bay, captain Steven Stamkos scored a tying goal with six seconds remainingin regulation and Brayden Point tallied the deciding goal in the sixth round of the shootout to push the Lightning to a 3-0-0 record – joining Vancouver as the only teams without a loss of any kind this season.

* Sean Monahan notched his sixth career overtime goal (241 GP) to lift the Flames to their first win of the season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the 22-year-old center tied Jarome Iginla (6 in 1,219 GP) for the most regular-season overtime goals in Flames history.

BALANCED ATTACK LEADS SENATORS, WILD TO VICTORY
The Senators and Wild each spread the offense around to secure wins:

* Seven different players – Erik Karlsson (1-1—2), Kyle Turris (1-1—2), Tom Pyatt (1-1—2), Chris Kelly (1-1—2), Mark Stone (1-1—2), Zack Smith (1-0—1) and Bobby Ryan(1-0—1) – hit the scoresheet for Ottawa in its win over Arizona. Via Elias, the Senators last had seven different goal scorers in a single game almost exactly one year ago on Oct. 14, 2015 at CBJ (7-3 W).

* Minnesota had six players – Erik Haula (1-1—2), Jason Pominville (1-1—2), Charlie Coyle (1-0—1), Mikko Koivu (1-0—1), Teemu Pulkkinen (1-0—1) and Jared Spurgeon(1-0—1) – tally in its victory over Los Angeles. Elias adds the last time the Wild had six different goal scorers was Feb. 21 in a 6-1 W vs. CHI at the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

A mask used by Holtby during the World Cup of Hockey 2016, featuring images of Gord Downie, lead singer of the Tragically Hip, raised more than $27,000 in an online auction.
