* Alex Pietrangelo posted an assist to extend his point streak to six games (2-7—9). He is tied for fourth among NHL defensemen (with teammate Kevin Shattenkirk) with 6-27—33 in 45 games this season.

* The Blues improved to 13-2-5 (.650 winning percentage) in one-goal games this season, second only to the Ducks (18-1-5, .750).

* The Blues have allowed two or fewer goals in eight consecutive games, their longest such streak since a 10-game run Feb. 23-March 11, 2012.

BRODEUR, JAGR LEAD DEVILS OVER CANADIENS
Martin Brodeur made 29 saves and Jaromir Jagr scored his 695th career goal to power the Devils to their fifth consecutive game with at least one point (3-0-2). Brodeur improved to 45-19-6 in 70 career regular-season appearances against his hometown team, including a 1.83 goals-against average (his lowest against any opponent), .930 save percentage and nine shutouts.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, 20 of Brodeur’s 45 career victories versus the Canadiens have come at Bell Centre, which ranks seventh among all goaltenders (including those who play for Montreal) since the building opened in March 1996. Brodeur has posted at least 20 regular-season wins as a visitor at two other rinks: the now-closed Mellon Arena (23) and Nassau Coliseum (22).

* Jagr (1-1—2) moved past Mark Messier and into sole possession of seventh place on the NHL’s all-time goals list. He sits 13 behind Mike Gartner (708) for sixth all-time.

* Ryane Clowe posted two helpers to extend his assist/point streak to five games (1-6—7).

BARRIE POWERS AVALANCHE (AGAIN)
Tyson Barrie recorded his first career two-goal game, including the winner with 50.7 seconds remaining in overtime, to help the Avalanche improve to 6-1-2 in their last nine games. Of Barrie’s seven career goals (71 GP), three have been game-winners – all of which have been scored in overtime, including the decisive marker last Wednesday versus the Senators.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Barrie is only the second defenseman in Avalanche/Nordiques history to post a multi-goal game that included the overtime winner (Adam Foote: March 10, 2004).

* Semyon Varlamov made a season-high 46 saves to improve to 9-0-5 in his last 14 decisions. He is the first Avalanche goaltender to record 14 consecutive decisions without suffering a regulation defeat since Peter Budaj went a franchise-record 16 games (13-0-3) without one Feb. 24-April 5, 2007.

LIGHTNING FAST
Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov scored nine seconds apart in the second period and Ben Bishop made 33 saves to lead the Lightning to their eighth victory in their past 10 road games.

* The Lightning’s two goals in nine seconds matched a franchise record set Jan. 9, 2004, in a 4-1 win over the Devils (Dave Andreychuk, Fredrik Modin).

* Bishop improved to 5-0-0 with a 0.91 goals-against average, .970 save percentage and two shutouts in five career games versus the Rangers, including a 2-0-0 mark this season.

* Martin St. Louis collected an assist to extend his point streak to five games (3-3—6). He leads the Lightning with 20-24—44 in 47 games this season.

LAST-MINUTE HEROICS
Vincent Lecavalier scored the tiebreaking goal with 14.8 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Flyers to their eighth win in their past 11 games. Lecavalier has 10 goals in 34 games this season, matching his total from 2012-13 (39 GP).

* The Flyers recorded their eighth victory of 2013-14 when trailing at some point of the third period. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that is one shy of the franchise record for third-period comebacks in a single season, set in 1996-97.

* Scott Hartnell posted 1-2—3 for his second three-point game of the season and the 25th of his career. He has 5-9—14 in his past 14 games.

* Wayne Simmonds collected two assists and has 10-7—17 in his last 14 outings.

MAPLE LEAFS END DROUGHT IN BOSTON
Tyler Bozak (2-1—3) and Phil Kessel (0-3—3) combined for six points to help the Maple Leafs snap a six-game, regular-season losing streak at TD Garden dating to March 31, 2011.

* Kessel matched a career high with three assists. He has recorded multiple points in each of his past three games, totaling 1-6—7 over that span.
