LAST DAY OF REGULAR SEASON FINALIZES PLAYOFF PICTURE . . .
One division title, four playoff positions and four First Round matchups were decided during the final day (and two games) of the regular season:


* The Ducks clinched the Pacific Division title by defeating the Capitals. They will face the Predators in the First Round of the playoffs, their second all-time meeting and first since 2011 (NSH: 4-2 W in CQF).

* The Kings, who fell to the No. 2 seed in the Pacific Division, will play the Sharks in the First Round of the playoffs, their fourth all-time meeting and first since 2014 (LAK: 4-3 W in FR).

* The Rangers clinched the No. 3 seed in the Metropolitan Division by virtue of the Islanders’ loss. They will face the Penguins in the First Round of the playoffs, their third consecutive and seventh all-time meeting (NYR: 4-1 W in 2015 FR).

* The Islanders, who remained in the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, will play the Panthers in the First Round of the playoffs, their first all-time meeting.

. . . NHL ANNOUNCES FIRST ROUND SCHEDULE
The NHL announced the dates, starting times and national television coverage for the First Round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which begins this Wednesday, April 13.

NHL CELEBRATES REGULAR-SEASON TROPHY WINNERS
The NHL announced three of its regular-season trophy winners: the Art Ross Trophy, Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy and William M. Jennings Trophy.

* Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane captured his first career Art Ross Trophy as the League’s scoring champion. Kane (Buffalo, N.Y.), who finished the season with a career-high 46 goals, 60 assists and 106 points, became the first U.S.-born player in NHL history to win the award.

* Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored 50 goals to claim his fourth consecutive and sixth overall Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy. He became the third player in NHL history to total seven or more 50-goal seasons, following Mike Bossy and Wayne Gretzky – each with nine.

* Ducks goaltenders Frederik Andersen and John Gibson combined to win the first William M. Jennings Trophy in their careers as well as franchise history. Anaheim (192 GA) posted a 2-0 victory on Sunday to leapfrog Washington (193 GA), its opponent, for the award.

NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING PREPS FINAL RANKINGS FOR 2016 DRAFT
NHL Central Scouting Bureau will release its final rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft tomorrow, April 12, at 11:00 a.m. ET.

The rankings, featuring the top 210 skaters and 30 goaltenders in North America as well as the top 150 skaters and 15 goaltenders from Europe, will be available on NHL.com.

ANDERSEN BACKSTOPS DUCKS TO DIVISION TITLE, JENNINGS TROPHY
Frederik Andersen stopped all 24 shots he faced, including 11 in the second period, to lead the Ducks past the Capitals and to their fourth consecutive Pacific Division title as well as the William M. Jennings Trophy.

* The Ducks, who were 17-17-7 and 16 points out of first place midway through the season (Jan. 12), went 29-8-4 in their final 41 games to claim their fifth division title in franchise history (also 2006-07).

* Anaheim, who entered the game one goal behind the Capitals for the William M. Jennings Trophy, finished the season with 192 goals against, compared to Washington’s 193.

* Andersen, who earned his sixth career shutout and third of the season, was flawless in his return from a five-game absence. He went 17-1-2 in his final 22 appearance of the season (2.11 GAA, .924 SV%, 3 SO) to help the Ducks claim their first William M. Jennings Trophy.

FLYERS SPOIL ISLANDERS’ HOPES OF MOVING UP METROPOLITAN
Down 2-0 midway through the first period, the Flyers scored five unanswered goals to spoil the Islanders’ hopes of moving into third place in the Metropolitan Division.

* The Flyers, who clinched a playoff berth on Saturday, picked up points in 18 of their final 23 games of the season (15-5-3).

* Michael Raffl (1-2—3) recorded his third career three-point game. The others: Dec. 15, 2013 at WSH (0-3—3) and Oct. 25, 2014 vs. DET (2-1—3).

MILESTONES & BENCHMARKS
* Capitals forward Justin Williams became the 28th active player to reach the 1,000-game milestone.

* Islanders forward Ross Johnston, who signed with the team as an undrafted free agent, made his NHL debut.

LOOSE PUCKS
The Ducks became the first team to lead the NHL in both power-play (23.1%) and penalty-kill (87.2%) efficiency since the 1984-85 Islanders . . . Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere snapped a 13-game drought with his 17th goal of the season, the most by a rookie blueliner since 2005-06 (Dion Phaneuf: 20) . . . Ducks forward Corey Perryscored his 34th goal of the season, good for ninth in the NHL . . . Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth (15 SV) earned the win while making his first appearance since March 16 . . . ICYMI: The Senators named Pierre Dorionthe eighth general manager in franchise history.
