NATURAL HAT TRICKS POWER CLUBS TO VICTORY
Predators forward Filip Forsberg (3-1—4) and Senators forward Mika Zibanejad (3-0—3) each registered natural hat tricks to lift their respective teams to victory Saturday.

* Forsberg scored three consecutive goals in the second period and Pekka Rinne denied all 28 shots he faced as the Predators extended their point streak to nine games (6-0-3), including four straight wins.

* Forsberg registered his second natural hat trick in the past three games (also Feb. 23 at TOR). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Forsberg became the first player in Predators history to post multiple hat tricks in a season. Elias adds that Forsberg became the first player to register multiple natural hat tricks in a span of three or fewer team games since 1986-87, when Petri Skriko did so in consecutive games with the Canucks (Nov. 18 vs. CGY and Nov. 21 vs. NYR).

* Forsberg added an assist to record his first career four-point game. He leads the club in goals (26) -- matching his career high from 2014-15 (82 GP) -- and points (46) this season.

* Forsberg scored 12 times in the month of February (12-4—16), the most ever by a Predators player in one calendar month. The previous high was 10 (Jason Arnott in February 2009 and Martin Erat in December 2009). (Elias)

* Pekka Rinne registered his 40th career shutout (and fourth of the season) to stretch his personal point streak to six games (4-0-2), including three straight wins. Rinne became the fifth active goaltender to reach the 40-shutout milestone.

* Zibanejad scored three consecutive goals in a span of 2:38 in the third period to rally Ottawa past Calgary. The Senators, who entered the final frame trailing 4-2, posted their fifth win in the past six contests (5-1-0).

* Zibanejad registered the first hat trick of his NHL career, which included his team-leading sixth game-winning goal of the season. Prior to 2015-16, Zibanejad had not scored a game-winner in 200 career games. His three goals in 2:38 also were the fastest by one player in Senators history, besting the previous franchise record of 7:05 by Marian Hossaon Jan. 2, 2003 vs. ATL.

DID YOU KNOW?
There have been three natural hat tricks in the NHL over the past five days (Forsberg: Feb. 27 vs. STL, Feb. 23 at TOR and Zibanejad: Feb. 27 at CGY). Prior to this run, one player had accomplished the feat this season (PIT's Sidney Crosby on Feb. 2 vs. OTT).

AROUND THE RINKS
* Tanner Pearson scored twice and Jhonas Enroth (23 saves) blanked his former club as the Kings topped Buffalo for their fourth consecutive victory. The Kings (37-20-4, 78 points) increased their lead over the idle Ducks (33-19-8, 74 points) to four points atop the Pacific Division standings.

* The Flyers scored three times in the first period en route to their 4-2 victory over the Coyotes and improved to 4-1-1 in their last six games. Michal Neuvirth (29 saves) improved to 5-1-2 in his last eight appearances and 15-7-4 overall (2.19 GAA, .928 SV%, 3 SO).

NEW BLACKHAWKS SET TO FACE LEAGUE-LEADING CAPITALS
The Blackhawks could have a number of recent acquisitions, including forward Andrew Ladd, forward Tomas Fleischmann and defenseman Christian Ehrhoff, in their lineup today when they play host to the League-leading Capitals at United Center. A win by the Blackhawks would vault them past Dallas into first place in the Western Conference overall. The Capitals, who own a 16-point lead over their closest rival in the Eastern Conference, have posted the NHL's best road record (21-6-2); their 21 wins are the most through a team’s first 29 road games in NHL history.

STREAKING DUCKS, KINGS MEET IN 'FREEWAY FACE-OFF'
The Ducks, who own the NHL's longest current winning streak of seven games, play host to the Pacific Division-leading Kings, who have won four straight contests, in the Southern California rivals' third meeting in 2015-16. The clubs have split their first two games, with the road team winning each. After a slow start to the season, the surging Ducks trail the Kings by four points in the race for the Pacific Division lead.
