RED WINGS, PENGUINS JOCKEY FOR PLAYOFF POSITIONING
Two teams battling for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference face off when the Red Wings (29-19-9, 67 points) visit the Penguins (28-19-8, 64 points) at CONSOL Energy Center as part of a national broadcast in both the U.S. and Canada (NBCSN, SNE, SNO, SNP, TVAS). Detroit currently sits in third place in the Atlantic Division, where teams Nos. 2-4 are separated by just four points. Pittsburgh is clinging to the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, but also is in the thick of the Metropolitan Division race, where teams Nos. 2-7 are separated by just 10 points. This marks the second of three meetings between the Red Wings and Penguins in 2015-16; Pittsburgh scored five unanswered goals to defeat Detroit, 5-2, in their first matchup on Dec. 31 at Joe Louis Arena.

STREAKING BLUES FACE KINGS AT SCOTTRADE CENTER
The Blues (33-17-9, 75 points), who have collected points in five straight games (4-0-1) and 15 of their last 18 (10-3-5), look to stay hot when they welcome the Kings (33-20-3, 69 points) to Scottrade Center. St. Louis currently sits in third place in the Central Division, but is just six points shy of first-place Chicago (38-18-5, 81 points) – with two games in hand. Los Angeles, meanwhile, is clinging to a narrow lead atop the Pacific Division, where it is trailed by Anaheim (29-19-8, 66 points) and San Jose (30-20-5, 65 points).
