KANE EXTENDS STREAK IN BLACKHAWKS SHUTOUT WIN
Patrick Kanescored for the third straight game to extend his franchise-record point streak to 25 games (16-23—39) and lead the Blackhawks to a 2-0 victory over the Jets, their third win in their last four outings.

* Kane continues to pace all players with 19-26—45 this season -- he has registered at least one point in 28 of 30 games. His 26 assists are tied for first in the League with Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson, while his 19 goals rank second behind Dallas forwardJamie Benn (20).

* Kane joins Sidney Crosby as the only players since the 1992-93 season to register a point streak of 25 games. Crosby posted 50 points (26-24—50) in 25 games between Nov. 5 – Dec. 28, 2010. Elias notes that Kane is the first player on a defending Stanley Cup champion to have a point streak of at least 25 games since 1985-86, when Wayne Gretzky had a 39-game streak for the Edmonton Oilers and teammate Paul Coffeyscored in 28 straight games.

* Corey Crawford turned aside all 22 shots he faced to pick up his third shutout of the season and the 15th of his career. Crawford has won three consecutive decisions and improved to 14-7-2 overall (2.33 GAA, .921 SV%, 3 SO).

* Jonathan Toews notched the game-winning goal, his third of the season and 46th of his career. Per Elias, Toews tied Denis Savard for fourth on the franchise’s all-time game-winning goals list:

NHL-LEADING STARS EXTEND POINT STREAK TO SEVEN GAMES
Down 1-0, the Stars scored three consecutive goals to defeat the Flyers and stretch their point streak to seven games (5-0-2).

* At 22-5-2 (46 points), the League-leading Stars continued their best start to a season in the franchise’s 48-year history.

* Jamie Benn scored his League-leading 20th goal of the season and TylerSeguinregistered his 25th assist; Benn (20-20—40) and Seguin (15-25—40) are tied for second in League scoring with 40 points apiece. This is the second consecutive season in which a Stars player has been the first in the League to score 20 goals, with Seguin earning that distinction in 2014-15.

* Stars forward Antoine Roussel notched his team-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season.

KINGS EARN SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN
Jonathan Quick made 40 saves through 65 minutes and stopped three of four Pittsburgh shooters in the shootout to backstop the Kings to their sixth consecutive victory, their second such run of the season (also Oct. 16-31: 7-0-0).

* Per Elias, Quick improved to 10-0-3 in 13 career regular-season games where he has made 40 or more saves.

* At 19-8-1 (39 points), the Kings lead the Pacific Division and trail the League-leading Stars (22-5-2, 46 points) by seven points for first place in the Western Conference.

* Defenseman Jake Muzzin (1-1—2) notched his fourth multi-point game of the season -- five (2-3—5) of Muzzin’s 15 points this season have come against the Penguins.

DEVILS, COYOTES RALLY FOR OVERTIME WINS
The Devils and Coyotes each overcame deficits en route to their overtime victories on Friday night:

* The Devils overcame a 2-0 deficit in the third period and Kyle Palmieri (1-1—2) scored on a breakaway with 39.3 seconds left in overtime to give the Devils the win and stretch their point streak to five games (3-0-2). Palmieri has now found the back of the net in a career-high four straight games (4-1—5).

* Down 1-0 in the second period, Mikkel Boedker (2-0—2) tied the contest and scored 34 seconds into overtime as the Coyotes earned their fifth straight win on home ice. Boedker – who leads the club with 11 goals this season – recorded his third multi-goal outing of the season. The Coyotes earned their first win against Minnesota since Nov. 27, 2013 snapping a six-game winless streak (0-5-1).

KORPIKOSKI’S HAT TRICK POWERS OILERS TO VICTORY
Lauri Korpikoski (3-0—3) recorded his first career hat trick and the Oilers broke a 5-5 draw with two goals in the final 1:34 of regulation to pick up a 7-5 win over the Rangers.

* Per Elias, Korpikoski, who made his NHL debut with the Rangers in 2008-09, is the first former Rangers player to score three goals in one game against them since Alex Kovalev did that for the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Jan. 5, 2002.

* In addition to Korpikoski, Taylor Hall (2-2—4), Leon Draisaitl (0-4—4) and Teddy Purcell (1-2—3) all recorded at least three points.

* Hall has scored in four straight games (5-4—9), equaling his career high goal streak (last achieved March 8 – 14, 2012), and has scored the game-winning goal in three consecutive contests. Hall leads the Oilers in goals, assists and points this season with 14-30—34 and is tied with Evgeni Malkin (PIT) for the League-lead with five game-winning goals.

OILERS HONOR SATHER WITH BANNER AT REXALL PLACE
The Oilers honored former head coach, general manager and president GlenSather by raising a banner at Rexall Place prior to their game against the Rangers. Sather, who currently serves as president of the Rangers, won five Stanley Cups with the Oilers, including four as their head coach (1983-84, 1984-85, 1986-87 and 1987-88).

* He became the ninth member of the Oilers presented with a banner at Rexall Place; fellow honorees – including Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Grant Fuhr, Paul Coffey, Mark Messier and Glenn Anderson – participated in the two-day celebration of Sather’s career.


MILESTONES & BENCHMARKS
* Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault coached his 1,000th career game, becoming the 23rd coach in NHL history to reach the milestone. Vigneault also tied Roger Neilson for 22nd on the NHL’s all-time games coached list.

* Devils forward Joseph Blandisi (drafted 162nd overall by Colorado in 2012) and Kings forward Michael Mersch (drafted 110th overall by Los Angeles in 2011) made their NHL debuts.

* Winnipeg captain Andrew Ladd skated in his 400th career game with the Jets/Thrashers franchise.

LOOSE PUCKS
Jeff Skinner (3-0—3) scored three goals to lead the Hurricanes to their third win in their last four outings. Skinner notched the third hat trick of his NHL career, his first since Jan. 2, 2014 (at WSH 3-0—3)… Despite suffering an overtime loss, the Red Wings stretched their point streak to 13 games (8-0-5), their longest such run since a 20-game streak from March 9 – April 17, 2006 (17-0-3). At 16-8-6 (38 points), the Red Wings moved within three points of the idle Canadiens (19-8-3, 41 points) for first place in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference... Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (1-0—1) now has seven goals (7-4—11) in nine career games against Los Angeles while teammate Chris Kunitz(0-1—1) stretched his point streak to five games (1-7—8)... Despite suffering an overtime loss, the Wild extended their point streak to six games (3-0-3) and Wild forward Zach Parise (0-1—1) extended his point streak against the Coyotes to 13 games (9-6—15) dating back to Dec. 15, 2007... Rangers forward Rick Nash (1-2—3) recorded his third three-point game of the season while teammate Derick Brassard (2-0—2) posted his second two-goal game in his last three outings.

TWO GAMES HIGHLIGHT HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA’S SCHEDULE
Two games highlight Hockey Night in Canada’s national broadcast schedule: the Ottawa Senators visit the Montreal Canadiens (CBC, CITY) in their third of four regular-season meetings this season -- the Canadiens, who lead the Eastern Conference with 41 points, look to get back on track after losing their last four games; the New York Rangers continue their run through Western Canada as they look to slow down the Calgary Flames (CBC). Led by Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan, who each have seven points in their last four games, Calgary has won eight consecutive games at home, their longest run on home ice since Feb. 23 – March 27, 2013 (8-0-0).

BLUES HONOR FORMER CAPTAINS ON FIRST HERITAGE NIGHT
The St. Louis Blues will honor all the men who served as captain during the club’s first Heritage Night when the team hosts the Dallas Stars. Since their inaugural season in 1967, 20 players have worn the ‘C’ for the Blues – former captains Garry Unger, Frank St. Marseille, Bob Plager, Barry Gibbs, Bernie Federko, Rick Meagher, Garth Butcher, Brett Hull, Shayne Corson, Al MacInnis and Eric Brewer along with current captain David Backes will be in attendance.
