Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello (3-0—3) and Canadiens forward Dale Weise (3-0—3) both registered their first career hat tricks to lead their respective clubs to victory.

* Per Elias, Zuccarello – a native of Oslo, Norway – became the second Norwegian-born player in NHL history to record a hat trick. The other: Espen Knutsen (CBJ) on Jan. 24, 2002 vs. SJS (3-1—4).

* Derick Brassard (0-3—3) and Rick Nash (0-3—3) assisted on all three of Zuccarello’s goals. Brassard has 2-3—5 in his last three outings, while Nash has 6-12—18 in 18 career games vs. TOR. According to Elias, the last time a Rangers player had a hat trick and the same two players had the primary and secondary assists on all three goals was March 30, 1975

* The Rangers extended their point streak to six games (4-0-2) and improved to 8-3-1 in their last 12 games vs. TOR dating to Jan. 14, 2012.

* Mike Condon made 30 saves to improve to 3-0-0 with a 1.67 goal-against average and a .944 save percentage in the first three appearances of his career.

BRUINS EXTEND POINT STREAK TO SIX GAMES
The Bruins opened the scoring with three consecutive goals – including two by Brad Marchand – to defeat the Panthers and extend their point streak to six games (5-0-1). The Bruins also improved to 4-0-0 on the road this season.

* Marchand extended his point streak to five games (4-3—7).

* David Krejci (0-1—1) extended his season-opening point streak to nine games (7-8—15). His 15 points rank second among League-leaders, trailing only DAL’s Jamie Benn (9-8—17).

* Per Elias, Krejci is the first Bruins player to record at least one point in each of the team’s first nine or more games of a season since 1992-93, when Joe Juneau (7-15—22) and Dmitri Kvartalnov (12-10—22) did so through the team’s first 14 games of the season from Oct. 8 – Nov. 12, 1992.

WILD AVENGE POSTSEASON DEFEAT
Nino Niederreiter scored the eventual game-winning goal 32 seconds into the third period to lead the Wild over the Blackhawks in their first meeting since the Second Round of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, a four-game sweep by Chicago.

* The Wild have begun their season with five consecutive regulation wins on home ice for the first time in franchise history. The Wild and the Canadiens are the only NHL clubs without a loss on home ice this season (MTL: 4-0-0).
