TOEWS, CRAWFORD LEAD BLACKHAWKS TO (ANOTHER) 1-0 OT WIN
After combining to lead Chicago to a 1-0 overtime win against Tampa Bay on Saturday,Jonathan Toews again scored in overtime and Corey Crawford again stopped every shot he faced to power the Blackhawks past the Ducks in their first meeting since the 2015 Western Conference Final, a seven-game series victory by Chicago (that included three overtime contests).

* The Blackhawks, who extended their shutout streak to 133:34, earned their fourth consecutive win following a 2-3-0 start to the season.

* Toews, who on Saturday registered the winning goal 17 seconds into overtime, ended the game 51 seconds into the extra period. Toews’ fifth career overtime goal, all with the Blackhawks, propelled him past Marian Hossa (4) and into sole possession of third place in franchise history (since overtime was introduced in 1983-84), behind Patrick Sharp (8) and Brent Seabrook (6).

* Via Elias, Toews became the first player in NHL history to score the overtime goal in consecutive 1-0 games – as well as the first player to register two such goals in one season.

* Crawford made a season-high 39 saves to record his 14th career shutout. He has earned consecutive shutouts for the second time in his career, also Jan. 9-12, 2011 (29 SV vs. NYI and 24 SV vs. COL).

* Overall, Crawford improved to 5-2-0 in seven appearances this season (1.57 GAA, .943 SV%, 2 SO). He has started all four games during the team’s current winning streak (0.75 GAA, .970 SV%, 2 SO).

DID YOU KNOW?
The Blackhawks, who defeated the Ducks in the 2015 Western Conference Final and Lightning in the 2015 Stanley Cup Final, posted consecutive 1-0 overtime victories against those teams in their first meetings of the 2015-16 season.

Per Elias, the Blackhawks became the first Stanley Cup champion in NHL history to shut out their Conference Finals/Semifinals opponent (ANA) and Stanley Cup Final opponent (TBL) in their first meeting with each club the following the season.

DOMI POWERS COYOTES IN FIRST GAME AT AIR CANADA CENTRE
Max Domi, the son of longtime Maple Leafs forward Tie Domi, scored 6:31 into his first NHL game at Air Canada Centre to lift the Coyotes a 5-3-1 record overall, including a 4-1-1 clip on the road.

* Domi, the 12th overall selection by the Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Draft, moved into sole possession of first place in rookie scoring (4-6—10 in 9 GP). Via Elias, he became the fourth rookie in Coyotes/Jets history to register 10 or more points in his first nine appearances of a season. The others: Dave Christian (11 in 1980-81), Dale Hawerchuk(14 in 1981-82) and Teemu Selanne (12 in 1992-93).

* ICYMI: The Coyotes pranked Domi by letting him start pregame warm-ups by himself.

* Martin Hanzal collected his League-leading 10th assist of the season (9 GP), six short of his 37-game total from 2014-15. Elias adds that Hanzal’s 10 assists are three shy of the Coyotes/Jets franchise record for the month of October, set by Paul MacLean in 1982 and equaled by Phil Housley in 1991.

* The Coyotes improved to 9-1-1 in their last 11 meetings with the Maple Leafs dating to Jan. 14, 2006, including a 5-0-1 record at Air Canada Centre.

HALAK BACKSTOPS ISLANDERS PAST FLAMES
Jaroslav Halak stopped all 29 shots he faced, including 11 in the third period, to earn his second shutout of the season and help the Islanders improve to 6-1-0 in their last seven outings.

* Halak recorded his 38th career shutout – and eighth with the Islanders – to tie Jonathan Quick for fourth place among active goaltenders, behind Roberto Luongo (68), Henrik Lundqvist (55) and Marc-Andre Fleury (39).

* The Islanders shut out the Flames for the first time since Jan. 20, 1981, when Glenn “Chico” Resch made 21 saves and Bryan Trottier (2-1—3) and Clark Gillies (1-2—3) both recorded three points in a 5-0 win at Nassau Coliseum.

* Mikhail Grabovski, who scored the overtime goal on Saturday at STL, notched his second consecutive game-winning goal. Frans Nielsen (2-0—2), Nikolay Kulemin (0-2—2) and Kyle Okposo (0-2—2) added multi-point performances.

MILESTONES & BENCHMARKS
* Captain Shane Doan registered his 114th career power-play goal, all with the Coyotes/Jets franchise. Via Elias, that ties Keith Tkachuk for second place in franchise history, behind Dale Hawerchuk (122).

* Forward Shawn Matthias, a Mississauga, Ont., native, scored his first goal in a Maple Leafs uniform (7 GP).

* Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano played in his 630th consecutive game since making his NHL debut on Oct. 4, 2007 (w/ EDM). That ties Andy Hebenton (1955-64) for the second-longest consecutive games played streak to begin a career. Doug Jarvis, who did not miss a game during his NHL career, holds the League’s all-time consecutive games played record (1975-88: 964 GP).

LOOSE PUCKS
Coyotes forward Kyle Chipchura (1-1—2) notched his second career game-winning goal and first since Feb. 3, 2010 vs. DET (w/ ANA) . . . The Predators signed defensemanMattias Ekholm to a six-year contract extension . . . The Department of Player Safetyfined Jets forward Alexander Burmistrov for elbowing Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon . . . Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov and Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick were named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the week ending Oct. 25.

UNDEFEATED CANADIENS LOOK TO EQUAL NHL RECORD
The undefeated Canadiens (9-0-0, 18 points) look to continue their perfect start to the season when they visit the Canucks (3-2-3, 9 points) at Rogers Arena. Montreal, who already has set the NHL record for most consecutive regulation wins to begin a season, now is one victory shy of equaling the League record for wins (in any fashion) to start a campaign – both the 1993-94 Maple Leafs and 2006-07 Sabres posted 10 straight victories to open their seasons.

This game also marks the first by Canucks forward Brandon Prust against his former team. Prust spent the past three seasons in Montreal, collecting 15-30—45 in 172 outings and helping the Canadiens reach the 2014 Eastern Conference Final. He will make his return to Bell Centre on Nov. 16.

LIGHTNING, BLUES CLASH IN INTER-CONFERENCE MATCHUP
The Lightning (5-2-2, 12 points) visit the Blues (5-2-1, 11 points) at Scottrade Center as part of a national broadcast in both the U.S. and Canada (NBCSN, SN1). Both of these clubs are coming off overtime losses on Saturday – Tampa Bay fell 1-0 at CHI, while St. Louis lost 3-2 vs. NYI. The Blues have won five of the past six meetings between these teams dating to Nov. 12, 2011 (TBL: 1-4-1), including three straight at home. They will face off one more time this season, Feb. 14 at TBL.

FLYERS HOST RETIREMENT CEREMONY FOR BRIERE
The Flyers (4-2-1, 9 points) will host a retirement ceremony for forward Daniel Briere prior to their game against the Sabres (2-6-0, 4 points) at Wells Fargo Center. Briere, the 24th overall selection (by the Coyotes) in the 1996 NHL Draft, compiled 307-389—696 in 973 NHL appearances. That included 124-159—283 with the Flyers (364 GP) and 92-138—230 with the Sabres (225 GP). Briere also helped the Flyers reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2010 and Sabres reach the Eastern Conference Final in both 2006 and 2007, collecting 53-63—116 in 124 career playoff games.
