BLACKHAWKS CAPTURE THIRD STANLEY CUP IN SIX YEARS
Corey Crawford stopped all 25 shots he faced, including 14 in the third period, andDuncan Keith scored the winning goal at 17:13 of the middle frame to lift the Blackhawks to their third Stanley Cup in the past six years and sixth in franchise history.

* The Blackhawks clinched the Stanley Cup at United Center for the first time (building opened in 1994-95) and won the trophy on home ice for the first time since April 12, 1938, when they defeated the Maple Leafs, 4-1, at Chicago Stadium to close the best-of-five Final in four games.

* Since the Stanley Cup was not in Chicago for the team’s series-clinching win in 1938, the Blackhawks’ Game 6 victory marked the first time they have received the trophy on home ice since April 10, 1934, when they defeated the Red Wings, 1-0, in double-overtime to win the best-of-five Final in four games (Mush March scored GWG at 10:05 of 2OT).

* The Blackhawks improved to 6-7 in 13 all-time Stanley Cup Final appearances. Their other championships: in 1934 (3-1 vs. DET), 1938 (3-1 vs. TOR), 1961 (4-2 vs. DET), 2010 (4-2 vs. PHI) and 2013 (4-2 vs. BOS).

* The Blackhawks became the first team to win three Stanley Cups in a six-year span since the Red Wings did so from 1997-02 (in 1997, 1998 and 2002).

* The Blackhawks improved to 16-4 in their last 20 playoff games in which they could eliminate an opponent (dating to Game 6 of the 2009 CQF at CGY). That includes a 4-1 record this year – their other wins: in Game 6 of the First Round vs. NSH (4-3 W), Game 4 of the Second Round at MIN (4-3 W) and Game 7 of the Western Conference Final at ANA (5-3 W).

* Dating to the start of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Blackhawks improved to 18-1 in Games 5-7 of series that had been tied at 2-2. Their lone such loss came in Game 5 of this year’s Western Conference Final at ANA (5-4 OT L).

* The Blackhawks also improved to 43-14 overall in Games 4-7 since the start of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including a 9-2 record this year. They have won 19 of 23 contests in Games 5-7 dating to 2012.

* The Blackhawks improved to 13-1 in Game 6s over that span (3-0 this year). Their lone such loss was in the 2012 Western Conference Quarterfinals vs. PHX (4-0 L that eliminated them from the playoffs).

* The Blackhawks closed the season with a 33-0-0 record when leading after two periods (25-0-0 in regular season, 8-0 playoffs). They were the only team that did not suffer a loss of any fashion in that scenario.

* The Blackhawks punctuated their championship run with a 9-2 record on home ice, outscoring opponents 36-23 at United Center. They only earned more home wins in one playoff year during the club’s run to the Stanley Cup in 2013 (11-2).

THRICE AS NICE
Seven Blackhawks players won their third Stanley Cup with the team (2010, 2013 and 2015): Niklas Hjalmarsson, Marian Hossa, Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews. Only one other active player has three Stanley Cup victories: Kings forward Justin Williams (2006 w/ CAR, 2012 w/ LAK and 2014 w/ LAK).

KEITH WINS CONN SMYTHE TROPHY
Defenseman Duncan Keith (3-18—21 in 23 GP) won the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to “the most valuable player to his team in the playoffs.” The winner was selected in a vote by a panel of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

* Keith capped his postseason performance with the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in Game 6, becoming the first player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy and record the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in the same year since Henrik Zetterberg did so in 2008 with the Red Wings. Only one other defenseman has achieved that feat: Bobby Orr in 1970 and 1972 with the Bruins.

* Keith led all defensemen with 18 assists and 21 points during the playoffs. Only four defensemen in NHL history have collected more assists in one playoff year: Paul Coffey (25 in 1985 w/ EDM), Al MacInnis (24 in 1989 w/ CGY), Brian Leetch (23 in 1994 w/ NYR) and Orr (19 in 1972 w/ BOS).

* Keith equaled a Blackhawks record for points by a defenseman in one playoff year;Chris Chelios notched 6-15—21 in 1992. Keith’s 21 postseason points also were tied for the most by any defenseman over the last 20 years; Chris Pronger collected 5-16—21 in 2006 with the Oilers.

* All three of Keith’s postseason goals stood as winning tallies. His others both came in the First Round: in Game 1 at NSH (at 7:49 of 2OT) and Game 6 vs. NSH (at 16:12 of the 3rd period). The goal in Game 6 of the First Round also clinched the series.

* Keith again led all players with 30:19 of time on ice. In doing so, he became the fourth skater to log 700 minutes in one playoff year (since time on ice was introduced as an official stat in 1998).

Most Time on Ice, One Playoff Year (since 1998)
747:33 – Drew Doughty, LAK, 2014^
742:55 – Chris Pronger, EDM, 2006
717:01 – Nicklas Lidstrom, DET, 2002^
715:37 – Duncan Keith, CHI, 2015^
^ Won Stanley Cup

* On top of those stats, Keith finished the playoffs with a League-best +16 rating. Only Chelios has recorded a better plus/minus for the Blackhawks in one postseason (+19 in 1992).

* Keith became the third member of the Blackhawks’ cornerstone players to win the Conn Smythe Trophy during their run of three Stanley Cups in the past six years. The others: Jonathan Toews in 2010 and Patrick Kane in 2013.

* Keith became the first defenseman to win the Conn Smythe Trophy since Scott Niedermayer did so in 2007 with the Ducks. The complete list of defensemen who have won it since it was first awarded in 1965:

Defensemen Who Have Won Conn Smythe Trophy (since 1965)
2015: Duncan Keith (CHI)
2007: Scott Niedermayer (ANA)
2002: Nicklas Lidstrom (DET)
2000: Scott Stevens (NJD)
1994: Brian Leetch (NYR)
1989: Al MacInnis (CGY)
1978: Larry Robinson (MTL)
1972: Bobby Orr (BOS)
1970: Bobby Orr (BOS)
1969: Serge Savard (MTL)

* “It feels so great,” said Keith. “You want to keep being a part of these things. You don’t get these awards without being on great teams with great players, and I’m just proud to be a part of this group of guys who cares so much and do whatever it takes.”

CRAWFORD TIES FRANCHISE RECORD WITH WIN
Corey Crawford (25 SV) became the first goaltender to post a shutout in a Stanley Cup-clinching game since Tim Thomas did so in 2011 with the Bruins (4-0 W in Game 7 at VAN). Only two other goaltenders have achieved that feat over the past 20 years:Martin Brodeur in 2003 with the Devils (3-0 W in Game 7 vs. ANA) and Patrick Roy in 1996 with the Avalanche (1-0 3OT W in Game 4 at FLA).

* Crawford, who has spent his entire career with the Blackhawks, improved to 45-29 in 76 all-time playoff appearances (2.23 GAA, .921 SV%, 5 SO). His 45 postseason wins equal a franchise record established by Tony Esposito (45-53).

* Crawford became the second goaltender in Blackhawks history to register a shutout in a Stanley Cup-clinching game. Charlie Gardiner also accomplished that feat in Game 4 of the 1934 Stanley Cup Final vs. DET (1-0 W in 2OT).

* Crawford finished the postseason with a 13-6 record, 2.31 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and two shutouts. His other blank sheet came in Game 3 of the Second Round at MIN (30 SV).

* Crawford allowed just two goals over the final three games of the Stanley Cup Final, all wins. He ended the series with a 1.69 goals-against average and .938 save percentage.

* Crawford also closed the playoffs with a 7-2 record, 1.75 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in nine appearances at United Center.

QUICK HITS
* Forward Patrick Kane posted 1-1—2, including the insurance goal with 5:14 remaining in regulation (his first of the series). He shared the League lead with 11-12—23 during the playoffs (w/ Lightning forward Tyler Johnson: 13-10—23).

* Playing his final NHL game, defenseman Kimmo Timonen captured the Stanley Cup for the first time. Timonen, who began his NHL career in 1998-99, played 1,213 career games before winning his first championship (1,108 GP in the regular season, 105 GP in the playoffs).

* Joel Quenneville became the 11th head coach in NHL history to win three Stanley Cups. The others: Scotty Bowman (9), Toe Blake (8), Hap Day (5), Al Arbour (4),Dick Irvin (4), Punch Imlach (4), Glen Sather (4), Jack Adams (3), Pete Green (3) and Tommy Ivan (3).

* Forward Brad Richards registered a pair of assists in the series-clinching victory. Richards, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy and captured the Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004, posted 1-2—3 in the six games against his former team.

* FUN FACT: The Stanley Cup-winning goal was orchestrated by three players who now have won the Conn Smythe Trophy: Duncan Keith (2015 w/ CHI) scored off assists from Kane (2013 w/ CHI) and Richards (2004 w/ TBL).

* The Blackhawks improved to 12-1 when scoring the first goal in the playoffs. Their lone such loss was in Game 5 of the First Round at NSH (5-2 L).

BLACKHAWKS, LIGHTNING FINISH HISTORICALLY CLOSE FINAL
The Blackhawks and Lightning played five consecutive one-goal games to open the Stanley Cup Final. Only one previous Stanley Cup Final featured five straight one-goal games to begin the series – the 1951 affair between the Maple Leafs and Canadiens in which all five contests required overtime (TOR, 4-1).

On top of the first five games being decided by one goal, the Blackhawks and Lightning were tied or separated by one goal for all but the final 5:14 of the series (354:46 of 360:00). This marked the first Stanley Cup Final in which neither team held a multi-goal lead at any point in the opening five games of the series.
