SEABROOK LIFTS BLACKHAWKS IN TRIPLE-OVERTIME THRILLER
Brent Seabrook scored 60 seconds into the third overtime period to power the Blackhawks to a 3-1 series lead over the Predators in the longest game thus far in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs.


* The Blackhawks have contested the last three triple-overtime games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs – also April 17, 2014 at STL (100:26, 4-3 L in Game 1 of FR) and June 12, 2013 vs. BOS (112:08, 4-3 W in Game 1 of F).

* Overall, the Blackhawks improved to 52-41-2 in 95 all-time playoff overtime games (2-0 in this series). That includes a 5-3-1 record in contests that have required at least three overtime periods.

* Seabrook posted his third career game-winning goal in the playoffs, all in overtime. The others: May 29, 2013 vs. DET (Game 7 of CSF) and June 19, 2013 at BOS (Game 4 of F).

* Per Elias, Seabrook’s three postseason overtime goals are tied for second in Blackhawks history (w/ Jeremy Roenick). Patrick Kane, who collected the primary assist on Seabrook’s winner, holds the franchise record with four such goals.

* “I don’t know if guys were excited I scored or excited the game was over,” said Seabrook, who logged 33:30 TOI on 50 shifts. “It was one of those games. It was tough. Both teams, I think, are going to feel it in the morning, but we’re happy with the outcome and we’ve got to move on to Game 5.”

* Scott Darling made 50 saves, including 20 after regulation, to improve to 3-0 in the playoffs with a pair of overtime victories (also in Game 1). He owns a 1.05 goals-against average and .969 save percentage, stopping 127-of-131 shots over 228:43 TOI.

* After notching the winning goal in Game 3, Brandon Saad provided the tying marker with 8:57 remaining in regulation. He has 9-16—25 in 58 career postseason appearances.

* Antoine Vermette scored the team’s other goal, his first in a Blackhawks uniform (21 GP, regular season and playoffs). It was his 10th career postseason goal and first since April 29, 2012, also vs. NSH (w/ PHX).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
At 101:00, the Predators played the longest game in franchise history, eclipsing the previous mark of 94:51 set on April 30, 2011 vs. VAN (2-1 W in Game 2 of CSF). The longest game in Blackhawks history stands at 113:50, played on April 9, 1931 at MTL (3-2 W in Game 3 of F).

BACKSTROM’S OT HEROICS HELP CAPITALS EVEN SERIES
Nicklas Backstrom (1-1—2) scored at 11:09 of overtime to help the Capitals defeat the Islanders and even their series at 2-2.

* Backstrom recorded his third career game-winning goal in the playoffs, all in overtime. The others: April 17, 2010 vs. MTL (Game 2 of CQF) and April 14, 2012 at BOS (Game 2 of CQF).

* Did You Know?: Two of Backstrom’s postseason overtime goals have come againstJaroslav Halak (also April 17, 2010 vs. MTL).

* Backstrom leads all players with 3-3—6 in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs (4 GP), including goals in three consecutive outings. Elias says that is one game shy of his longest postseason goal streak, set April 17-22, 2008 (4-1—5 in 4 GP).

* Alex Ovechkin also registered 1-1—2 for his 17th career multi-point performance in the playoffs and first since April 16, 2012 vs. BOS (1-1—2).

* Braden Holtby stopped 36 shots, including all 24 he faced after the first period, to improve to 5-5 in 10 career playoff overtime games. He also snapped a six-game roadpostseason losing streak dating to May 7, 2012 at NYR.

* Joel Ward collected the primary assist on Backstrom’s winning goal. Ward scored thelast road overtime goal for the Capitals in the playoffs – on April 25, 2012 at BOS(Game 7 of CQF).

2-2 SCENARIOS
When teams are tied 2-2 in a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series, Elias says that the winner of Game 5 holds an all-time series record of 185-50 (78.7%).

OVERTIME NOTES
There have been seven overtime games thus far in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs (27 GP), with road clubs winning four of those contests.

* In 2014, there were 26 total overtime games (93 GP), including 14 in the First Round.

* In 2013, there were 27 total overtime games (86 GP), including 17 in the opening round (an NHL record).

* The most overtime games in one postseason is 28, set in 85 total contests in 1993.

STRONG START SPARKS FLAMES TO 3-1 SERIES LEAD
The Flames scored three times on seven shots in the opening period to take a 3-1 advantage in their series against the Canucks.


* The Flames hold a 3-1 series lead for the first time since the 1994 Western Conference Quarterfinals, when the Canucks stormed back with three consecutive overtime wins en route to a trip to the Stanley Cup Final.

* Johnny Gaudreau opened the scoring with his first career playoff goal (1-2—3 in 4 GP). The 21-year-old Salem, N.J., native shared first among rookies with 24-40—64 during the regular season (80 GP).

* Jiri Hudler (1-1—2) notched the tiebreaking goal, his fourth career game-winning tally in the postseason and first since May 10, 2009 vs. ANA (w/ DET). He set a career high with five such goals during the regular season.

* Sam Bennett provided the other goal, his second in as many games following his first career postseason strike on Sunday.

* Jonas Hiller made 28 saves to improve to 3-1 with a 1.79 goals-against average and .938 save percentage during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He also earned consecutive postseason victories for the first time since May 3-5, 2009 (w/ ANA).

* Dennis Wideman posted two assists for his fifth career multi-point playoff game and first since May 7, 2010 at PHI (0-2—2 w/ BOS). He ranked fourth among defensemen with a career-high 56 points during the regular season (15-41—56).

3-1 TREND
Via Elias, teams that go up 3-1 in a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series hold an all-time series record of 249-27 (90.2%).

MRAZEK, RED WINGS SHUT THE DOOR ON LIGHTNING
Petr Mrazek stopped all 22 shots he faced, including a sprawling pad save toward the end of the third period, to earn his first career playoff shutout (3 GP) and backstop the Red Wings to a 2-1 series lead over the Lightning.

* Mrazek posted three shutouts during the regular season, including a 23-save performance on March 28 vs. TBL. No other goaltender has shut out the Lightning in 2014-15.

* Per Elias, Mrazek became the fifth rookie goaltender in Red Wings history to record a playoff shutout. The others: Earl Robertson (April 13 and April 15, 1937 vs. NYR),Terry Sawchuk (March 31, 1951 at MTL), Chris Osgood (April 20, 1994 vs. SJS) andJimmy Howard (April 20, 2010 vs. PHX).

* Pavel Datsyuk opened the scoring at 8:46 of the first period. It stood as his seventh career game-winning goal in the postseason; he had five such goals during the regular season, one shy of his career high achieved in both 2007-08 and 2012-13.

* Datsyuk, who was held off the scoresheet in Game 2, has compiled 13-20—33 in 29 outings (regular season and playoffs) since Jan. 29 and has not played consecutive games without recording a point in that span.

* Riley Sheahan notched his first career playoff goal/point (8 GP), while Luke Glendening added an insurance marker into an empty net. Overall, the team that has scored first has won each of the last six games between these clubs.

* Including the regular season, the Red Wings improved to 16-2-3 all-time at home vs. TBL. Detroit won 13 of their first 15 meetings at Joe Louis Arena from Nov. 23, 1992 – Nov. 30, 2011.

NHL ANNOUNCES LADY BYNG FINALISTS
The NHL announced that Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk, Flames forward Jiri Hudler and Kings forward Anze Kopitar are the three finalists for the 2014-15 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded “to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.”

Members of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association submitted ballots for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy at the conclusion of the regular season, with the top three vote-getters designated as finalists. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 24, during the 2015 NHL Awards from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Predators forward Colin Wilson scored his fourth goal of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs (4 GP), tops in the NHL. He had one goal in 11 career postseason appearances prior to 2015 and just one tally in his final 22 games of the 2014-15 regular season . . . Forward Casey Cizikas notched the lone goal for the Islanders. He has 3-2—5 in 10 career playoff appearances . . . Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller stopped all 15 shots in relief of Eddie Lack . . . Per Elias, Nashville’s 39 blocked shots were the most in one Stanley Cup Playoffs game since Boston’s 40 on June 12, 2013, also at CHI (Game 1 of F) . . . The NHL announced updated start time and national television information for two potential Game 5s scheduled for Friday . . .
