SENATORS WIN SEVENTH STRAIGHT TO REACH WILD CARD SPOT
Facing a 2-1 deficit in the third period, the Ottawa Senators scored four unanswered goals – including two in a span of 1:12 – to defeat the San Jose Sharks and earn their seventh consecutive victory. The Senators, who have earned points in 16 of their last 17 games overall (15-1-1), improved to 37-24-11 (85 points) this season and leapfrogged the idle Boston Bruins (36-25-12, 84 points) for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Senators have recorded points in 16 of 17 games for the first time since Feb. 20-March 24, 2007 (11-1-5). Elias also says that Ottawa has won 15 of 17 games for the first time since Oct. 3-Nov. 15, 2007 (15-2-0).

* Andrew Hammond made 29 saves to improve to 14-0-1 in his first 15 career starts and push his personal winning streak to nine games. According to Elias, Hammond is the first goaltender to earn points in each of his first 15 career starts since Patrick Lalime went 14-0-2 in his first 16 career starts for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1996-97.

* Mike Hoffman (1-2—3) leads the Senators and all NHL rookies with 26 goals this season. He sits fourth in rookie scoring with 26-20—46 in 69 games.

* Bobby Ryan (0-3—3) posted three helpers to surpass 200 career assists (202). He sits second on the team with 18-35—53 this season.

* Mika Zibanejad (2-0—2) recorded his second multi-goal game of the season to extend his point streak to four games (2-3—5).

FLAMES EDGE AVALANCHE, HOLD FIRM IN PACIFIC…
Lance Bouma (1-1—2) and David Jones (1-1—2) both recorded multi-point efforts to lead the Flames past the Avalanche. With the win, the Flames (40-27-6, 86 points) maintain third place in the Pacific Division standings, two ahead of the Los Angeles Kings (35-23-14, 84 points) and just two behind the idle Vancouver Canucks (42-26-4, 88 points) for second in the division.

* Bouma’s 14th goal of the season also stood as the game-winner. He is tied for second on the Flames with four game-winning markers. Jones, who played his first six NHL campaigns in Colorado, has five points (2-3—5) in three games against the Avalanche this season.

* Jiri Hudler (1-0—1) scored his 27th goal of the season to extend his point streak to three games (2-3—5). He leads the Flames in points with 27-38—65.

* Karri Ramo made 25 saves to improve to 15-8-2 this season with a 2.53 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. He has earned at least a point in six of his last seven decisions (5-1-1).

...KOPITAR, KINGS KEEP PACE WITH WIN OVER DEVILS
Anze Kopitar (1-2—3) factored in on all three goals to lead the Kings to a 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils. With the win, the Kings (35-23-14, 84 points) sit two points behind the Flames (40-27-6, 86 points) for third place in the Pacific Division and four behind the Winnipeg Jets (38-23-12, 88 points) for the final wild card position in the West.

* Kopitar scored his 15th goal of the season and leads the club in assists (42) and points (57). The Kings improved to 10-1-3 this season when he records a multi-point game.

* Kopitar also continues to climb the franchise lists in multiple categories. He ranks sixth all-time in assists with 386 (passing Butch Goring’s 384) and skated in his 673rd regular-season game with the franchise to tie Mike Murphy for eighth in team history.

* Tyler Toffoli scored his 21st goal of the season, which stood as the game-winner. His three game-winning goals are tied for second on the team, one behind leader Jeff Carter (4).

* Marian Gaborik (0-2—2) recorded his ninth multi-point effort of the season for the Kings.

WILD, JETS HOLD DOWN WEST WILD CARD WITH WINS
The Minnesota Wild (41-25-7, 89 points) and Winnipeg Jets (38-23-12, 88 points) both earned wins to continue their hold on the wild card race in the Western Conference.

* Minnesota earned their franchise-best ninth consecutive road win and established a new franchise record for road points in a single season with 44 (21-14-2).

* Devan Dubnyk made 35 saves to improve to 32-11-3 this season with a 2.10 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage. Since debuting with the Wild on Jan. 15, Dubnyk has made 31 consecutive starts with a 23-6-1 record, 1.74 goals-against average, .937 save percentage and five shutouts. He has allowed two goals or less in 23 of those 31 games.

* Dubnyk also extended his franchise-record road winning streak to nine games. Elias says only two other active goaltenders have posted a single-season road winning streak of nine or more consecutive decisions: Jimmy Howard (10-0-0) with the Red Wings in 2010-11 and Carey Price (10-0-0) with the Canadiens earlier this season (Dec. 23-Feb. 26).

* Thomas Vanek (1-1—2) extended his season-high point streak to eight games (6-4—10), the longest active point streak in the League and longest by a Wild player this season.

* The Jets matched a season-high with their fifth straight win and now own a four-point cushion on the Los Angeles Kings (35-23-14, 84 points) for the final wild card position in the Western Conference.

* Ondrej Pavelec made 33 saves to improve to 18-14-7 this season with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. Pavelec has started all five games of the win streak, allowing just five goals over that span.

* Drew Stafford (1-0—1) opened the scoring with his 16th goal of the season to extend his point streak to six games (4-4—8). Since debuting with the Jets on Feb. 12, Stafford has recorded 7-7—14 in 17 games.

CRAWFORD BACKSTOPS BLACKHAWKS TO VICTORY
Corey Crawford made 43 saves to record his 30th win of the season and backstop the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. The Blackhawks have earned points in eight of their last nine contests (7-1-1) and sit third in the Central Division (44-22-6, 94 points), two behind the second place Nashville Predators (44-21-8, 96 points) and three behind the division-leading St. Louis Blues (45-21-7, 97 points).

* Crawford improved to 30-15-5 this season with a 2.19 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. According to Elias, Crawford is the third goaltender in franchise history to post four seasons of at least 30 wins, joining Tony Esposito (eight times between 1969-70 and 1979-80) and Glenn Hall (four times between 1961-62 and 1965-66).

* Jonathan Toews (0-1—1) recorded the 500th point of his NHL career (218-282—500), all with the Blackhawks. According to Elias, Toews is the third player from the 2006 NHL Draft to reach the 500-point mark following Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom (145-421-566) and Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel (246-267—513).

* Andrew Shaw (2-0—2) and Patrick Sharp (1-1—2) contributed to the win with multi-point efforts.

* According to Elias, the last time the Stars overcame three or more one-goal deficits and earned a win in regulation was Dec. 21, 2005 when they overcame three one-goal deficits to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets by a score of 5-3.

* Jamie Benn (2-1—3) scored an even-strength goal, a power-play goal and added his team-leading 44th assist. Per Elias, the assist was the 200th of his NHL career, and Benn is one of six current NHL players age 25 or younger with 200 or more career assists. The others are John Tavares, Erik Karlsson, Steven Stamkos, Jakub Voracek and Sam Gagner.

* Patrick Eaves (1-1—2) scored his 10th goal and added his 10th assist to record his second consecutive multi-point game (2-2—4).
