PERRY, ANDERSEN LIFT DUCKS PAST MAPLE LEAFS
Corey Perry recorded his eighth career hat trick and Frederik Andersen stopped all 28 shots he faced to power the Ducks to their fourth victory in their past five outings.

* At 28-10-6 (62 points), the Ducks tied the idle Predators (29-9-4, 62 points) – in terms of points – for the top spot in the NHL standings. Nashville, however, holds two games in hand and owns the ROW tiebreaker (NSH: 25, ANA: 22).

* Perry posted his third hat trick of the season, tops in the NHL, following three-goal performances Oct. 9 at PIT and Oct. 22 vs. BUF. His three hat tricks in 2014-15 match a single-season franchise record, established by Teemu Selanne in 1997-98 and equaled by Perry in 2010-11.

* Perry has registered all eight of his career hat tricks with the Ducks, tying Paul Kariya for second place in franchise history. Selanne holds the club record with 13.

* Perry leads the Ducks with 18 goals this season despite missing 15 contests. His 27 points in 29 games also share third on the club.

* Andersen earned his second career shutout (also Oct. 19 vs. STL: 28 saves). He ranks second in the NHL this season with 24 wins in 36 appearances, five behind League leader Pekka Rinne.

* Kyle Palmieri notched his 12th career game-winning goal and third of the season (also Nov. 25 vs. CGY and Dec. 7 at WPG). He has 5-5—10 in his past 11 contests after collecting 3-0—3 in his first nine games of the season.

* Ryan Getzlaf recorded 0-2—2 to move into a tie for fifth in the NHL in points (13-34—47 in 43 GP). His 34 assists also are tied for third, one behind League leaders Sidney Crosby and Jakub Voracek.

* The Ducks picked up their first win over the Maple Leafs since Oct. 21, 2008, snapping a six-game skid. They also earned their first head-to-head victory at Honda Center since Jan. 9, 2008 (0-3-0).

DID YOU KNOW?
Via Elias, the Ducks registered a hat trick and a shutout in the same game for the second time in franchise history. The only other such occurrence: Feb. 5, 2011, when Corey Perry scored three times and Curtis McElhinney made 25 saves in a 3-0 win at COL.

HOLTBY, CAPITALS BLANK FLYERS
Braden Holtby denied all 21 shots he faced to earn his 15th career shutout (fourth this season) and help the Capitals extend their point streak to nine games (7-0-2).

* At 24-11-8 (56 points), the Capitals moved three points ahead of the idle Rangers (24-12-4, 52 points) for third place in the Metropolitan Division. New York, however, holds three games in hand.

* The Capitals have collected points in 18 of their last 19 games dating to Dec. 4 (14-1-4), outscoring opponents 58-36 during that span. Elias says it marks the first time they have posted at least one point in 18 of 19 contests since 2009-10, when they went 18-1-3 over a 22-game stretch from Jan. 13 – March 10.

* The Capitals also have won seven straight home games dating to Dec. 13, including a 3-2 victory in the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Nationals Park. That marks their longest home winning streak since Dec. 20, 2011 – Jan. 15, 2012 (7-0-0).

* Making his franchise-record 26th consecutive appearance and career-high 20th straight start, Holtby improved to 22-8-7 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in 38 outings this season. His four shutouts match a career high, achieved in each of the past two seasons (36 GP in 2012-13 and 48 GP in 2013-14).

* Holtby also improved to 14-2-4 during his current string of starts dating to Dec. 2. His 14 personal wins in that span lead the NHL.

* Jason Chimera scored the lone goal at 3:13 of the first period, his 24th career game-winning tally and first since March 25, 2012 vs. MIN.

PACIORETTY POWERS CANADIENS’ COMEBACK
Down 2-0 midway through the third period, the Canadiens scored three power-play goals in less than four minutes – including a pair from Max Pacioretty – to pick up their 10th win in their last 13 contests (10-2-1).

* At 27-12-3 (57 points), the Canadiens moved within one point of the idle Lightning (27-14-4, 58 points) for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. Montreal holds three games in hand, but Tampa Bay owns the ROW tiebreaker (TBL: 26, MTL: 22).

* The Canadiens earned their sixth consecutive win as visitors dating to Dec. 23, marking their longest road winning streak since Jan. 21 – Feb. 21, 1982 (8-0-0). At 14-7-1, Montreal ranks second in the NHL this season in road wins (14) and road points (t-29).

* Pacioretty (New Canaan, Conn.) reached the 20-goal milestone for the third time in his career, all of which has been with the Canadiens (also in 2011-12 and 2013-14). Per Elias, he is just the second U.S.-born player to record at least three 20-goal seasons for Montreal, joining Chris Higgins (2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08).

* Pacioretty also extended his goal streak to a career-high five contests (6-1—7). Elias says the last Canadiens player to find the back of the net in five straight team games was Tomas Plekanec Feb. 18-27, 2009 (6-3—9).

* Carey Price made 14 saves to pick up his 23rd win of the season, tied for third in the NHL with Jaroslav Halak. Price also ranks in the top 10 in save percentage (6th; .927) and goals-against average (9th; 2.19) in 35 appearances.

* Via Elias, the Canadiens’ three power-play goals in 3:53 marked their fastest three strikes on the man-advantage since Jan. 14, 2006, when they tallied three times on the power play in a 2:21 span vs. SJS (6-2 W). It also marked the first time the Canadiens have scored three power-play goals in the third period of one game since March 9, 1998 vs. FLA (6-1 W).

* The Canadiens improved to 4-1-1 in six all-time visits to Nationwide Arena.

STRONG SECOND PERIOD PROPELS DEVILS
Knotted at 1-1, the Devils scored four consecutive goals in the second period to improve to 3-1-1 in their past five overall contests and snap a six-game road skid (0-5-1).

* Steve Bernier, Martin Havlat and Mike Cammalleri all scored in a 68-second span of the second period to give the Devils the lead. Elias says the Devils last recorded three goals in 68 or fewer seconds on Nov. 23, 1991, when Kevin Todd, Peter Stastny and Douglas Brown each found the back of the net in a 42-second span of a 5-5 tie at PHI.

* Bernier (2-0—2) registered his 13th career multi-goal game and first since March 30, 2013 at FLA (2-0—2). He also scored two power-play goals in one contest for the second time in his career (also Dec. 1, 2010 at ANA: 2-1—3 w/ FLA).

* Cammalleri posted 1-1—2, including the game-winning goal. A second-round pick (49th overall) by the Kings in the 2001 NHL Draft, Cammalleri has 10-6—16 in 19 career games against his former club.

* Michael Ryder (1-1—2) and Scott Gomez (0-2—2) added multi-point performances. Cory Schneider recorded 23 saves while making his League-leading 39th start of the season.

* The Devils improved to 7-1-2 in their past 10 regular-season visits to STAPLES Center dating to Jan. 21, 1999. They lost two of three games in Los Angeles during the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.

JOHANSEN, FOLIGNO EXTEND STREAKS FOR BLUE JACKETS
Blue Jackets forwards Ryan Johansen and Nick Foligno both extended their point streaks on Wednesday:

* Johansen scored his 16th goal of the season to stretch his point streak to a franchise-record 11 games (7-6—13). Earlier in 2014-15, Johansen set a career high and matched a Blue Jackets record with points in 10 straight contests (Oct. 9-31: 5-8—13). His current 11-game run is tied for the longest point streak in the NHL this season, with Evgeni Malkin (Oct. 9 – Nov. 4: 5-11—16) and Rick Nash (Nov. 19 – Dec. 16: 8-6—14). Johansen has 16-24—40 in 41 total outings, tops on the Blue Jackets in assists and second in both goals and points.

* Foligno collected one assist to push his point streak to a career-high eight games (2-9—11). Prior to this stretch, Foligno’s longest point streak was six contests, set Nov. 29 – Dec. 8, 2011 (4-3—7 w/ OTT) and equaled Oct. 9-23, 2014 (3-6—9). The 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game captain leads the Blue Jackets with 18 goals and 41 points in 40 appearances this season; his 18 goals match a career high (set in 70 GP in 2013-14), while his 41 points are six shy of his best single-season performance (set in 82 GP in 2010-11 w/ OTT).

LOOSE PUCKS
Kings forward Marian Gaborik found the back of the net for the third straight game (3-1—4). He has 11-5—16 in his past 13 outings dating to Dec. 14 . . . Defenseman Kevin Connauton scored his seventh goal of the season. He has 7-4—11 in 21 games since joining the Blue Jackets; Connauton had 1-9—10 in 44 career outings prior to his arrival in Columbus . . . Flyers goaltender Rob Zepp made 25 saves . . . Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov and Kings defenseman Brayden McNabb both posted two assists . . . The Maple Leafs have suffered consecutive shutouts for the first time since March 10-11, 2012 (at PHI and at WSH) . . . Kings forward Dwight King (200) and Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen (100) both played in milestone games . . . The Wild acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Coyotes in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft . . . The Penguins claimed forward Mark Arcobello off waivers from the Predators . . . The Department of Player Safety suspended Wild defenseman Ryan Suter for two games for elbowing Penguins forward Steve Downie.
