* At 20-15-6 (46 points), the Bruins leapfrogged the Maple Leafs (21-17-3, 45 points) – who lost on Wednesday – for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
* The Bruins have gone past regulation in each of their last four games (1-0-3). Elias says it marks their first such stretch since Jan. 19-29, 2009, when they went 3-0-1.

Eric Fehr (2-1—3) and Marcus Johansson (2-0—2) both scored twice to lead the Capitals to their third straight victory and an 11-1-3 mark in their past 15 games.

Playing in his 800th NHL game, Henrik Zetterberg registered 1-1—2 to propel the Red Wings to their fifth victory in their past seven outings.
* At 22-10-9 (53 points), the Red Wings moved within one point of the idle Canadiens (26-12-2, 54 points) for second place in the Atlantic Division. Montreal, however, holds one game in hand.

RANGERS VISIT KINGS IN FIRST MEETING SINCE STANLEY CUP FINAL
The Rangers visit the Kings at STAPLES Center in their first meeting since the 2014 Stanley Cup Final, a five-game series victory by Los Angeles clinched on home ice. Including the playoffs, the Kings are 6-1-2 in their last nine contests with the Rangers at STAPLES Center dating to Dec. 30, 2003. New York, however, won its last regular-season visit to Los Angeles, posting a 3-1 victory on Oct. 7, 2013. Overall, the Kings have earned points in seven of their last eight outings (4-1-3), including a 7-6 overtime loss on Saturday vs. NSH. The Rangers, meanwhile, are 10-1-0 in their past 11 contests, their best 11-game stretch since 1993-94.
“I had some flashbacks when we landed and I’m pretty sure everyone here did,” Rangers forward Derick Brassard told the New York Post. “There are some good memories and some bad memories about what happened. You kind of wish you could change it, but you can’t.”
LUONGO MAKES RETURN TO VANCOUVER
Roberto Luongo makes his return to Vancouver when the Panthers face the Canucks at Rogers Arena. The 35-year-old goaltender spent parts of eight seasons with Vancouver, compiling a 252-137-50 record with a 2.36 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and 38 shutouts in 448 appearances before being shipped to Florida at the 2014 Trade Deadline. He also led the team to the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, where it fell in seven games to the Bruins.
“It’s going to be a fun game,” Luongo told the Sun-Sentinel. “This is just exciting. It’s always fun when you face your former teams, especially in the building you played in for so many years. I just want to enjoy it, have a good game and hopefully give my team a chance to win.”
