RED WINGS ‘LIGHTS OUT’ IN FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN
Pavel Datsyuk (2-0—2) recorded his third multi-goal game of the season and Danny DeKeyser potted the decisive tally to lead the Red Wings to their fourth consecutive victory, their longest winning streak since March 29 – April 4 (4-0-0).

* ICYMI: The game was delayed 29 seconds after the opening face-off following a power surge that knocked out some of the lights in Joe Louis Arena.

* Datsyuk also posted a pair of goals Oct. 31 vs. LAK (2-1—3) and Nov. 26 vs. PHI (2-0—2). He now has 9-6—15 in 13 appearances this season, tied for second on the Red Wings in goals and third in points despite missing 11 games.

* Playing in his 100th NHL contest, DeKeyser scored his first career game-winning goal (5-29—34).

* Henrik Zetterberg collected two assists to stretch his point streak to four games (1-5—6). He paces the club with 18 assists and 23 points in 24 outings this season.

* Gustav Nyquist added his team-leading 11th goal of the season and seventh via the power play, tied for the most in the NHL with Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin.

* Jimmy Howard made 30 saves to improve to 11-4-4 with a 2.13 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and one shutout in 19 appearances. He also recorded his 163rd career victory, tying Harry Lumley for third in Red Wings history behind Terry Sawchuk (351) and Chris Osgood (317).

* The Red Wings went 2-for-4 on the power play and finished November with a League-high 17 power-play goals in 14 games (17-for-58, 29.3%). Via Elias, Detroit had not scored 17 or more power-play goals in one calendar month since the 2008-09 season, when they did so in both January (17) and February (18).

* The Red Wings recorded their third consecutive victory over the Canucks and extended their point streak in the head-to-head series to eight games (dating to Feb. 2, 2012: 6-0-2).

* The Red Wings picked up points for the 10th time in their last 12 overall outings (8-2-2). They also improved to 9-2-2 this season at Joe Louis Arena; their 20 home points rank second in the Eastern Conference and fourth in the NHL.

GALLANT, MACKENZIE RETURN TO COLUMBUS
A pair of former Blue Jackets return to Columbus when the Panthers visit Nationwide Arena. Gerard Gallant, who posted a 56-76-10 record in parts of three seasons behind the Blue Jackets bench (2004-06), makes his return as the head coach of the Panthers. Derek MacKenzie, who collected 31-38—69 while spending the last seven seasons in Columbus (279 GP), also returns after signing with Florida as a free agent. The Panthers enter the contest on a two-game winning streak, while the Blue Jackets have lost six straight (0-5-1). Columbus, however, has won eight consecutive meetings with Florida dating to March 21, 2009.

“It’s tough to pinpoint an emotion, but there will be lots of them just being back in that building,” MacKenzie told the Columbus Dispatch. “These are the guys I’ve played so many games with, been through so many battles with side-by-side. To be on the other side of the puck, it will be interesting.”

ROY AGAIN FACES FORMER CLUB
Former Canadiens star Patrick Roy again faces his former club when he leads Colorado against Montreal at Pepsi Center. Roy played the first 551 regular-season games of his NHL career for the Canadiens, posting 289 wins, a 2.77 goals-against average and 29 shutouts. He also led the team to the Stanley Cup twice – during his rookie season in 1985-86 and again in 1992-93. Since taking over as the head coach of Colorado, Roy is 1-2-0 in three games against Montreal – with the lone win coming Nov. 2, 2013 at COL. Overall, the Avalanche have won three of their last four and five of their past seven outings, while the Canadiens have dropped three straight (0-2-1), their second such streak of the season (also Oct. 30 – Nov. 4: 0-2-1).

DID YOU KNOW?
On the 90th anniversary of their first NHL game, a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Maroons at Boston Arena, the Bruins visit the Ducks.

Canucks forward Linden Vey (2-1—3) recorded his first career multi-goal game and also set a career high for points in one contest . . . Canucks forward Shawn Matthias (1-1—2) posted his first multi-point game since April 12 at EDM (1-1—2) . . . ICYMI: Facing off for the eighth time in the NHL, Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller stopped brother Drew on a third-period breakaway. Drew, however, improved to 7-1-0 in their head-to-head meetings.
