NHL FLOAT IN MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE
In celebration of the 2014 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown – which pits the Rangers against the Flyers on Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET (NBC, SN) – Hockey Hall of Famer and former Ranger Pat LaFontaine, recent Flyers Hall of Fame inductee John LeClair, and musical duo The Madden Brothers will ride aboard the Discover/NHL “Frozen Fall Fun” float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday in New York.

The 36-feet long by 20-feet wide float will feature a synthetic ice rink (with kids skating), a 12-feet tall turkey that serves as a hockey goal plus an assortment of colorful fall decor.

AVALANCHE, SENATORS RALLY FOR VICTORIES . . .
Both the Avalanche and Senators overcame multi-goal deficits to record wins Tuesday:

* Trailing 3-0 after 20 minutes, the Avalanche scored three unanswered goals to force overtime, where Daniel Briere potted the game-winning tally at 3:16 to lead the club to its second consecutive come-from-behind victory. Per Elias, the Avalanche rallied from a three-goal deficit to pick up a win for the first time since Feb. 28, 2013, when they overcame a 3-0 hole en route to a 5-4 victory vs. CGY.

* The Avalanche also rallied from a multi-goal deficit in their prior outing, a 4-3 victory Saturday vs. CAR in which they trailed 2-0. Via Elias, the team last overcame multi-goal deficits to win consecutive games Feb. 21-23, 1997, when they posted 4-3 victories at EDM and vs. OTT, respectively.

* Calvin Pickard stopped all 25 shots he faced in relief of Reto Berra. Pickard also entered Saturday’s game in relief of Berra, denying all 17 shots he faced to record his first NHL win. Elias says Pickard is the fifth goaltender in NHL history to register wins in consecutive team games in one season, both in relief (and the first to do so for his first career wins). The others: Jacques Cloutier (1981-82 Sabres), Jon Casey (1994-95 Blues), Jussi Markkanen (2005-06 Oilers) and Johan Hedberg (2005-06 Stars).

* Briere recorded his 12th career regular-season overtime goal and first since Feb. 9, 2013 vs. CAR (w/ PHI). Gabriel Landeskog sparked the Avalanche’s comeback with a pair of goals – his first multi-goal performance since April 1 at CBJ (2-0—2) – and Matt Duchene potted the tying marker at 4:05 of the third period.

* Down 2-0 after 40 minutes, the Senators scored twice in the final frame – including Alex Chiasson’s tying marker with 40.4 seconds remaining in regulation – before defeating the Blues on the strength of a shootout goal by Bobby Ryan.

* Chiasson became the sixth player to post a game-tying goal in the final minute of the third period this season, following Detroit’s Niklas Kronwall (19:21; Oct. 23 vs. PIT), Detroit’s Tomas Tatar (19:52; Nov. 5 at NYR), San Jose’s Patrick Marleau (19:26; Nov. 20 vs. FLA), Florida’s Nick Bjugstad (19:29; Nov. 22 at NSH) and Calgary’s Curtis Glencross (19:55; Nov. 22 vs. NJD). Of those six players, three saw their team go on to win the game in extra time (Kronwall, Glencross, Chiasson).

* Per Elias, the Senators last scored a game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation Nov. 3, 2013, when Ryan found the back of the net at 19:50 of the third period in an eventual 4-3 shootout loss vs. DAL.

* Chiasson now has six goals in 18 contests in 2014-15, nearly half his single-season high accomplished last year with the Stars (13-22—35 in 79 GP).

. . . DUCKS HOLD OFF FLAMES’ COMEBACK BID
Ahead 3-0 after two frames, the Ducks yielded a pair of third-period goals but ultimately held on to pick up their 19th consecutive home victory against the Flames dating to April 4, 2004 – their longest such streak against any opponent in franchise history.

* At 14-4-5 (33 points), the Ducks moved into a tie with the Canadiens (16-6-1, 33 points) for the most points in the NHL. Montreal, however, holds the ROW tiebreaker.

* Making his ninth consecutive start, Frederik Andersen recorded 32 saves to improve to 10-2-4 with a 2.10 goals-against average, .922 save percentage and one shutout in 17 appearances this season.

* Matt Beleskey (1-1—2) matched a career high with two points and now ranks second on the club with 10 goals (23 GP), one shy of his single-season high set in 2009-10 (60 GP).

* Corey Perry added his 12th goal of the season, tied for fourth in the League with Vladimir Tarasenko.

CANUCKS BLANK DEVILS, EQUAL FRANCHISE MARK
Ryan Miller stopped all 20 shots he faced to post his 31st career shutout (second this season) and lead the Canucks to their third win in their last four outings (3-0-1).

* With the victory, the Canucks (15-6-1, 31 points) tied a franchise record the best 22-game start in club history (1991-92: 14-5-3, 31 points).

* Miller picked up his 14th win of the season, tied for the League lead with Nashville’s Pekka Rinne. He also improved his overall record to 14-3-0 with a 2.47 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 17 appearances.

* Alexandre Burrows scored his 25th career game-winning goal and first since April 6, 2013 vs. CGY.

* The Canucks recorded their sixth consecutive victory over the Devils dating to Dec. 2, 2009.

* ICYMI: The Canucks paid tribute to late head coach and executive Pat Quinn with a moment of silence prior to puck drop and a special rendition of “Danny Boy” by anthem singer Mark Donnelly. The club also dedicated the “Forever a Canuck” in-arena display to Quinn and donned special “PQ” decals on their helmets, which they will wear for the remainder of the season.

SEGUIN’S PAIR POWERS STARS
Tyler Seguin scored his League-leading 16th and 17th goals of the season, including the game-winner, to power the Stars to their third consecutive victory.

* Seguin now has 52 goals (and 110 points) in 101 games since joining the Stars for the start of the 2013-14 season. He had 56 career goals (and 121 career points) in 203 outings prior to his arrival in Dallas.

* Seguin also now has 17-11—28 in 22 games this season, one point shy of League leaders Sidney Crosby (9-20—29 in 20 GP) and Jakub Voracek (7-22—29 in 20 GP).

* John Klingberg found the back of the net for the third consecutive contest and also added an assist to extend his point streak to five games (3-5—8). Elias says he is the first rookie defenseman in Stars/North Stars history to score in three straight games. He also is the third rookie blueliner in club history to post a five-game point streak and the first to do so since the team relocated to Dallas. The others: Brad Maxwell (two five-game streaks in 1977-78) and Shawn Chambers (one five-game streak in 1988-89).

* Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves to improve to 12-3-1 with a 2.05 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and one shutout in 16 career appearances against the Oilers.

* The Stars picked up their 12th victory in their last 15 meetings with the Oilers at American Airlines Center dating to Dec. 23, 2006 (12-1-2).

RINNE, PREDATORS EDGE KINGS
Pekka Rinne made 18 saves through overtime – and then denied all six attempts he faced in the shootout – to backstop the Predators to their seventh win in their last nine outings.

* With the victory, the Predators (14-5-2, 30 points) leapfrogged the Blues (14-6-2, 30 points) for the top spot in the Central Division.

* Rinne picked up his 14th win of the season, tied for the League lead with Vancouver’s Ryan Miller. The 32-year-old Finn also ranks in the top five in the NHL in goals-against average (2nd, 1.97) and save percentage (4th, .927).

* James Neal potted the lone goal in the shootout. Craig Smith (1-1—2) and Colin Wilson (0-2—2) added multi-point performances.

* At 38 years, 23 days, Matt Cullen became the oldest player in franchise history to suit up for the Predators, surpassing Hal Gill’s previous club mark (38 years, 21 days).

HUTCHINSON STAYS HOT FOR JETS
Michael Hutchinson made 32 saves, including 14 in the second period, to help the Jets end a two-game skid and pick up their second win in their last nine meetings with the Blue Jackets dating to Dec. 26, 2007 (2-7-0).

* Hutchinson improved to 4-1-1 with a 1.50 goals-against average, .947 save percentage and one shutout in seven appearances this season. That includes a 4-0-1 record in November; Elias says he is the first Jets/Thrashers rookie goaltender to record four wins in one calendar month since March 2006, when Kari Lehtonen set the franchise mark with nine victories.

* Knotted at 1-1 late in the second period, Evander Kane (2-0—2) and Andrew Ladd (1-1—2) scored 31 seconds apart to give the Jets a lead they would not relinquish. Kane posted his first multi-goal game since Jan. 5 at PIT (2-1—3).

* Bryan Little (1-1—2) found the back of the net at 0:09 of the first period, one second shy of the franchise record for the fastest goal after the opening face-off. The mark of 0:08 has been reached three times, most recently by Ladd Feb. 28, 2013 vs. NJD.

* Jacob Trouba (0-2—2) and Blake Wheeler (0-2—2) also registered multi-point games, their first and fifth, respectively, of the season.

LOOSE PUCKS
Avalanche forward Jarome Iginla (563-618—1,181) collected two assists to move past Sergei Fedorov (483-696—1,179) and into sole possession of 48th place on the NHL’s all-time scoring list . . . Flames captain Mark Giordano posted one assist to extend his League-leading point total among defensemen (6-18—24 in 23 GP) . . . Blues forward Ryan Reaves (0-1—1) found the scoresheet for the second consecutive game, the second time he has accomplished that feat in his NHL career (also Jan. 12-13, 2011) . . . Devils goaltender Cory Schneider (34 saves) fell to 0-1-2 with a 2.27 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in three games against his former club, the Canucks . . . Stars forward Ales Hemsky logged one shot on goal in his first game against the Oilers, the team that selected him 13th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft. Hemsky compiled 142-335—447 in 652 GP with the club . . . Coyotes defenseman Michael Stone (1-1—2) recorded his first multi-point game since Jan. 7 vs. CGY (1-1—2) . . . Kings teammates Justin Williams (2-4—6) and Drew Doughty (1-4—5) both extended their point streaks to five games. Doughty also played a season-high 33:40 . . . Oilers forward Taylor Hall scored his 100th NHL goal, while teammate Ryan Nugent-Hopkins picked up the secondary helper on the play for his 100th NHL assist . . . Ducks defenseman Mat Clark recorded his first NHL assist/point . . . Blue Jackets defensemen James Wisniewski (500) and Dalton Prout (100) both played in milestone games . . . ST. LOUIS MAKES RETURN TO TAMPA BAY
Former Lightning captain Martin St. Louis returns to Tampa Bay for the first time when the Rangers visit Amalie Arena on Wednesday. St. Louis, who signed with the Lightning as a free agent in July 2000, spent the last 13 seasons in Tampa Bay, ranking first in franchise history in assists (588) and points (953) as well as second in goals (365) and games played (972). The Lightning shipped the 39-year-old forward to New York at the 2014 NHL Trade Deadline in exchange for Rangers captain Ryan Callahan and a pair of draft picks. St. Louis currently has 3-2—5 during a four-game point streak and is two points shy of 1,000 in his NHL career (378-620—998 in 1,080 GP).

“I am expecting the worst, but am hoping for the best,” St. Louis told ESPN.com. “I know it’s going to be a different day for me. I don’t know what kind of emotions are going to come out.”
