* Andrew Mangiapane’s 30th goal of the season ignited the Flames offense Wednesday as Calgary produced its second-best (tied) 60-game start to a season in franchise history.

* Ryan Hartman, in the midst of a career season, helped the Wild withstand a Bruins rally while also bringing an end to rookie Jeremy Swayman’s eight-game win streak.

* The Western Conference Wild Card race takes over the NHL schedule Thursday, with Vegas, Dallas and Vancouver all in action.

FLAMES OFFENSE IGNITES, PROPELS TEAM TO VICTORY IN GAME NO. 60
Matthew Tkachuk (1-2—3) eclipsed the 70-point mark and Andrew Mangiapane (1-0—1) scored his 30th goal of the season to help the Flames (37-16-7, 81 points) open up a seven-point cushion on the idle Kings (33-21-8, 74 points) atop the Pacific Division. Only one campaign in franchise history has seen Calgary collect more wins through its first 60 contests: 1988-89 (41), en route to the club’s lone Stanley Cup.

* The Flames became just the second team to boast multiple players with 70-plus points (Johnny Gaudreau: 27-52—79 in 60 GP & Tkachuk: 28-43—71 in 60 GP) and 30-plus goals (Elias Lindholm: 30-33—63 in 60 GP & Mangiapane: 30-14—44 in 60 GP) this season, joining the Oilers (Connor McDavid: 33-52—85 in 59 GP & Leon Draisaitl: 39-44—83 in 60 GP).

KAPRIZOV, HARTMAN HELP WILD TAME BRUINS
Kirill Kaprizov (2-0—2) and Ryan Hartman (1-1—2) led the way as the Wild (35-20-4, 74 points) staved off a Bruins comeback attempt and handed Boston just its second regulation loss dating to Feb. 19 – a span of 13 games. Minnesota reclaimed third place in the Central Division from idle Nashville (35-21-4, 74 points).

* Hartman (24-21—45 in 59 GP), who has already set career highs in goals and points, has seen a significant rebound in his offensive production after recording 7-15—22 (51 GP) in 2020-21.

* Kaprizov, who boosted his season totals to 32-43—75 (58 GP), is on pace for 45 goals and 105 points. Should he meet those numbers, Kaprizov would set franchise records for goals and points in a season, besting the current marks of 42 goals (Eric Staal: 2017-18 & Marian Gaborik: 2007-08) and 83 points (Gaborik: 2007-08).

THE WILD WILD WEST: FINAL WILD CARD RACE IN WESTERN CONFERENCE INTENSIFIES
A fierce battle for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference will continue Thursday when three of the four teams separated by just two points take to the ice. Vegas (32-26-4, 68 points), currently in Wild Card positioning, welcomes Eastern Conference-leading Florida (41-13-6, 88 points) while Dallas (32-23-3, 67 points) and Vancouver (30-24-7, 67 points) – each on the outside looking in – face Montreal (16-36-8, 40 points) and Detroit (24-29-7, 55 points), respectively.

* The Golden Knights can strengthen their grip on the final Wild Card spot and improve to 4-0-0 all-time against the Panthers at T-Mobile Arena – Florida is one of five teams that Vegas is undefeated at home against.Reilly Smith (4-2—6 in 3 GP) and Jonathan Marchessault (1-5—6) lead all Golden Knights players with six points, respectively, in their three previous home contests versus the club.

* Jason Robertson and the Stars look to reclaim the final Wild Card position when they face the Canadiens at Bell Centre for the first time since Feb. 15, 2020 (4-3 W). Robertson (30-25—55 in 50 GP) has scored 20 of his team-leading 30 goals since Jan. 1 – only three players have recorded more through that span: David Pastrnak (25), Auston Matthews (25) and Gabriel Landeskog (21).

* J.T. Miller (8-19—27 in 13 GP) aims to extend the NHL’s longest active point streak to 14 games as the Canucks, who were six spots out of the second Wild Card seed when Bruce Boudreau took over as head coach on Dec. 6, 2021, look to move into a playoff position for the first time since Oct. 27, 2019. Miller (24-49—73 in 59 GP), who established a single-season career high in points last game, has 27 points since his run began on Feb. 12 and can become the fourth different Canucks player to reach the 50-assist mark in 60 contests or fewer.

GIROUX SET TO SKATE IN 1,000TH CAREER GAME
Claude Giroux (291-609—900 in 999 GP) is set to join Bobby Clarke (358-852—1,210 in 1,144 GP) as the second player to skate in 1,000 career games with the franchise, with Clarke standing as the only Philadelphia player Giroux trails in assists and points. The Flyers are set to honor their captain with a pre-game ceremony, which will include the former captain and franchise icon.
