* Lundqvist picked up his 11th victory of the playoffs, establishing a new best for wins in a single postseason. He leads all goalies with a 1.98 goals against average and a .931 save percentage, while posting a 6-1 record in his last seven games.

* Lundqvist earned the secondary assist on Derick Brassard’s second period goal, marking his first career assist in 85 postseason games. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the first Rangers goaltender to record a playoff assist since Mike Richter did so on May 11, 1997 in a series-clinching overtime victory against the New Jersey Devils in the second round.

* The victory was the 41st postseason win of Lundqvist’s career, tying him with Richter for the most playoff victories in Rangers history. Lundqvist ranks first in Rangers history in regulation wins with 309, eight more than Richter’s 301.

* Hagelin scored for the second straight game, netting his first career shorthanded goal in the postseason. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the tally was New York’s first shorthanded marker of the playoffs and first since Ryan Callahan’s on April 9, 2008 in the opening game of their first round series against New Jersey. The Rangers, who ranked tied for third in the League with 10 shorthanded goals in the regular season, had not scored one in the playoffs in a span of 70 games.

* The Rangers now lead a best-of-7 series 3-1 for the first time since the 2009 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals and hold a 12-1 series record all-time. The only blemish on the Rangers record was in 2009 when they lost to the Washington Capitals in Game 7.

* The Rangers played in back-to back overtime games in the postseason for the first time since dropping Games 1 & 2 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals in overtime to Philadelphia.

* The last time the Rangers defeated the Canadiens in the postseason in overtime was Game 5 of the quarterfinals on Apr. 16, 1974 in Montreal, when Ron Harris scored the winner at 4:07 of overtime.

RUSSIA WINS GOLD AT 2014 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Russia defeated Finland 5-2 to capture the gold medal for the fourth time in the last seven years (2008, 2009, 2012) at the World Championship in Minsk, Belarus. The Russians went unbeaten in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 52-10 in 10 games. Columbus goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was named the top goalkeeper with a 1.13 goals-against average and a .950 save-percentage.

OIL KINGS WIN 2014 MEMORIAL CUP
Edmonton Oil Kings center Henrik Samuelsson (drafted 27th overall by Phoenix in 2012) had two goals and three assists (2-3—5) to lead the Oil Kings to a 6-3 win over the Guelph Storm to win the Memorial Cup, the national championship of Canadian junior hockey. Forward Edgars Kulda (draft-eligible in 2014) had a goal and two assists (1-2—3) and was named the most valuable player of the tournament after finishing second overall in tournament scoring with seven points (4-3—7) in five games.

Montreal forward David Desharnais recorded two assists for his first career multi-point postseason game…P.K. Subban scored his fifth goal of the postseason -- he leads all defensemen in goals (5) and points (13), and is tied with Jeff Carter for the League lead with four power play goals…Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi recorded an assist for the second straight game and moved into a tie with Brian Leetch for fourth on the Rangers’ all-time postseason games played list (82).
