THREE HARD LAPS

* Corey Perry scored in double-overtime as the Stars became the first team in 12 years to win a multi-overtime game to stay alive in the Stanley Cup Final.

* Joe Pavelski scored his 13th goal of the postseason to force overtime and move into a share of the League lead in 2020.

* Tyler Seguin had an assist on all three Stars goals to become the first player since former teammate Mark Recchi (2011) to record three assists while facing elimination in the Final.

PERRY’S DOUBLE-OVERTIME GOAL KEEPS STARS ALIVE IN FINAL
Corey Perry scored his second goal of the game at 9:23 of double-overtime to help the Stars force Game 6 in the Stanley Cup Final on Monday. It was the 10th time that a game required multiple overtime periods with the Cup on the line, and fourth involving the Stars.

* The Stars became the fifth team in NHL history to win a multi-overtime game in which their opponent could clinch the Stanley Cup – it was the second time that Dallas achieved the feat. In 2000, Mike Modano scored the only goal after 6:21 of triple-overtime to help the Stars win Game 5.

* Perry, who broke a 19-game goalless drought in Game 4 on Friday, also became one of nine players in League history to score on consecutive days in the Final. Teammate JoePavelski also achieved the feat with his goal Saturday.

* Perry, whose wife Blakeny was in attendance, recorded his fourth career multi-goal game in the postseason. He became the first player since 2011 to score multiple goals in a Final game in which his team faced elimination – Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand each did so for the Bruins in Game 7 that year.

* Perry netted his fifth career playoff overtime goal. It was his first such tally with the Stars and the third overtime goal in franchise history during the Final, following Brett Hull (Game 6 in 1999) and Mike Modano (Game 5 in 2000) who also scored theirs in multi-overtime games.

PAVELSKI FORCES OT WITH 13TH GOAL OF 2020, 61ST OF PLAYOFF CAREER
Joe Pavelski scored for a second straight game, tying the game at 2-2, matching Tampa Bay’s Brayden Point for the League lead with 13 goals this postseason and surpassing Joe Mullen for sole possession of the most career playoff goals by a U.S.-born player.

* In pursuit of his first Stanley Cup, Pavelski (26 GP) now has the third-most goals in a playoff year in Stars/North Stars franchise history behind Steve Payne (17) and Dino Ciccarelli (14) in 1981 (19 GP each).

* Pavelski (160 GP) now sits tied with Phil Esposito (130 GP), Jacques Lemaire (145 GP) and Mark Recchi (189 GP) for 29th place on the NHL’s all-time playoff goals list with 61. Bobby Hull ranks 28th with 62 goals in 119 career playoff games.

STARS KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE
The Stars’ franchise-record sixth overtime of the postseason also was their ninth comeback win of 2020, equaling the franchise benchmark for most in one playoff year. Dallas also moved to 7-4 after a loss this postseason, tied for the most such victories by the club in a playoff year – the Stars were 7-1 after a loss in the 2000 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

SEGUIN JOINS FORMER TEAMMATE WITH THREE-ASSIST SHOWING
Tyler Seguin
notched an assist on all three Stars goals – his second straight multi-assist showing (0-2—2 in Game 4) – to become the ninth player in Stanley Cup Final history to record at least three assists with his team facing elimination. Before Saturday, the last player to achieve the feat was Mark Recchi in Game 6 of the 2011 Final – a series that ended with both Recchi and Seguin lifting the Stanley Cup.

* Seguin also became the seventh player in Stars/North Stars franchise history to collect three or more assists in any playoff game in which the team faced elimination - and second to do so in the Final (also Brad Maxwell, as noted above). The only other such performance since the club relocated to Dallas was by Sergei Zubov in Game 4 of the 2006 Conference Quarterfinals against Colorado.
.
