THREE HARD LAPS

* Shea Theodore scored his second game-winning goal in as many days as Vegas opened a three-point lead atop the Pacific Division standings.

* Winnipeg and Florida also rallied for big wins as both teams pursue a berth in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

* Alex Ovechkin moved into a tie for first place in the 2019-20 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy race as Washington re-established a one-point lead atop the Metropolitan Division standings.

PACIFIC DIVISION-LEADING VEGAS OVERCOMES 1-0, 2-1 DEFICITS IN WIN . . .
Vegas overcame deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 before Shea Theodore tallied the overtime winner as the Golden Knights (39-24-8, 86 points) defeated the Oilers (37-24-9, 83 points) and moved three points ahead of Edmonton atop the Pacific Division standings.

* Theodore became the 11th defenseman over the last 21 years (since 1998-99) to score a game-winning goal in consecutive days and second to do so this season.

. . . JETS, PANTHERS ALSO RALLY FOR PIVOTAL VICTORIES
The Jets (36-28-6, 78 points) and Panthers (35-26-8, 78 points), who are vying for playoff spots in their respective conference, also rallied for pivotal victories on Monday:

* Winnipeg defeated Arizona to leapfrog three idle teams – Nashville (34-26-8, 76 points), Vancouver (35-27-6, 76 points) and Minnesota (35-27-7, 77 points) – and move into the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference standings, where positions Nos. 6-11 are separated by just five points. The Jets, who scored four unanswered goals to erase a 2-0 deficit, extended their home win streak to a season-high six games – the second-longest active run in the NHL behind the Flyers (7-0-0).

* Florida overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat Western Conference-leading St. Louis and move within one point of idle Toronto (35-25-9, 79 points), which occupies third place in the Atlantic Division standings. The Panthers and Maple Leafs, who have combined for 28 goals through the first three contests of their four-game season series (9.33 G/GP), are set to meet once more in a March 23 showdown at Scotiabank Arena.

MORE HIGHLIGHTS FROM MARCH 9

* Mikey Anderson scored the game winner – which was the first goal of his NHL career (1-0—1 in 5 GP) – as the Kings improved to 6-0-0 in their last six outings dating to Feb. 26, their longest win streak since an eight-game run from Nov. 25 – Dec. 9, 2017. Mikey and his brother, Devils forward Joey Anderson, became the sixth set of siblings in NHL history to each have their first career goal stand as a game winner.

* Rasmus Dahlin
assisted on both Buffalo goals in regulation to help the Sabres defeat the Capitals. Dahlin (13-71—84 in 141 GP), who turns 20 on April 13, moved into a tie with Dan Quinn (39-71—110 in 128 GP) for 12th place on the NHL’s all-time assists list among teenagers.

* Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin (1-1—2) scored his 48th goal of the season (48-19—67 in 68 GP) to climb within two of recording his ninth career campaign with 50 and move into a tie with David Pastrnak (48-46—94 in 69 GP) for first place in the 2019-20 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy race.

QUICK CLICKS

PREVIEW OF TODAY’S ACTION

STREAKING FLYERS HOST LEAGUE-LEADING BRUINS AT WELLS FARGO CENTER
The Flyers (41-20-7, 89 points), who are 9-0-0 in their last nine games and occupy second place in the Metropolitan Division standings, look to extend the win streak to double digits when they host the League-leading Bruins (43-14-12, 98 points) at Wells Fargo Center.

* Philadelphia, which owns the longest active win streak in the NHL, can post a double-digit run for the fifth time in franchise history. The Flyers have only achieved the feat once since the 1980s, which was from Nov. 27 – Dec. 14, 2016 (10-0-0).

* Boston, meanwhile, can reach the 100-point mark within its first 70 games for the seventh time in franchise history. The Bruins have only accomplished the feat once since the 1970s, which occurred in 2013-14 (70 GP).

* ICYMI: Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom, who was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma earlier this season, joined Philadelphia for its team photo on Monday.
