DRAISAITL ECLIPSES 100 POINTS AS OILERS PICK UP WIN
Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl registered 2-1—3 and became the first player to eclipse the 100-point mark this season, while simultaneously opening an 11-point lead atop the 2019-20 Art Ross Trophy race.

* Draisaitl (Cologne, Germany), who made history in 2018-19 as the first NHL player of German nationality to reach the 100-point mark in a season (50-55—105 in 82 GP), became the seventh skater to record multiple triple-digit campaigns with Edmonton – joining Wayne Gretzky (9x), Jari Kurri (6x), Mark Messier (5x), Glenn Anderson (3x), Paul Coffey (3x) and current teammate Connor McDavid (3x).

* Draisaitl became the first Oilers skater to reach the 100-point mark in 65 games or fewer since Messier in 1989-90 (34-66—100 in 62 GP) and the first on any team since Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov last season (30-70—100 in 62 GP). Aside from Draisaitl and Kucherov, only eight other different players over the last 26 years (since 1993-94) have accomplished the feat.



* Draisaitl became the second German-born player in NHL history to reach the 100-point mark multiple times, joining Dany Heatley (Freiburg, West Germany) with Ottawa in 2005-06 (50-53—103 in 82 GP) and 2006-07 (50-55—105 in 82 GP). Heatley, however, is of Canadian nationality.

* Edmonton improved to 34-23-8 (76 points) this season and moved past Vancouver (34-24-6, 74 points) for second place in the Pacific Division standings.

TOP TWO WESTERN CONFERENCE TEAMS EXTEND WIN STREAKS
The Blues (39-17-10, 88 points) and Avalanche (39-18-7, 85 points), who occupy first and second place in the Western Conference standings, respectively, each extended win streaks:

* Dallas defenseman John Klingberg (1-1—2) tied the game with less than 20 seconds remaining in regulation, but Ryan O'Reilly (0-1—1) scored the only goal in the shootout to power St. Louis to its seventh straight win. The Blues posted a win streak of at least seven games for the third time this season, following Oct. 27 – Nov. 9, 2019 (7-0-0) and Dec. 12-29, 2019 (8-0-0).

* St. Louis became the second defending Stanley Cup champion in NHL history to post three separate win streaks of seven-plus games during the ensuing regular season, joining Montreal in 1977-78. Later that spring, the Canadiens went on to capture their third of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships.

* Pavel Francouz made 30 saves to help Colorado improve to 8-0-0 in its last eight games as visitors dating to Feb. 4 and establish an Avalanche/Nordiques franchise record for longest road win streak, eclipsing the previous runs of 7-0-0 set from Jan. 10 – Feb. 7, 1999 and matched during the ensuing 1999 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

* Francouz improved to 6-0-0 in his last six appearances dating to Feb. 19 (1.32 GAA, .957 SV%, 1 SO) – allowing two goals against or fewer in each game. The undrafted goaltender, who recently signed a two-year contract with Colorado, also moved to 5-0-0 in his last five road outings dating to Feb. 9 (1.38 GAA, .957 SV%, 1 SO).

ATLANTIC DIVISION CLUBS PURSUING PLAYOFF BERTHS PICK UP WINS
Atlantic Division clubs who entered Saturday occupying a playoff spot each earned wins:

* David Pastrnak opened the scoring with his League-leading 47th goal of the season (47-44—91 in 66 GP) to help the Bruins (41-13-12, 94 points) blank the Islanders and maintain their six-point lead atop the NHL standings. Pastrnak has opened the scoring 15 times in 2019-20; only one player in League history has scored more game-opening goals in a single campaign.

* Nikita Kucherov posted two assists to conclude February with 20 points (8-12—20 in 13 GP) and help Tampa Bay (41-19-5, 87 points), which occupies second place in the Eastern Conference standings, keep pace with League-leading Boston. Kucherov (31-49—80 in 63 GP), who reached the 80-point mark for a fourth straight season, has collected over 100 points in 112 career regular-season games without Steven Stamkos in the Lightning lineup (49-52—101).

* Auston Matthews scored his 45th goal of the season (45-32—77 in 66 GP) to keep pace with Pastrnak in the 2019-20 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy race and help the Maple Leafs extend their win streak to three games. Toronto (35-23-8, 78 points), which occupies third place in the Atlantic Division standings, moved five points ahead of fourth-place Florida (33-25-7, 73 points) – which suffered a shootout loss Saturday.

PACIFIC DIVISION-LEADING GOLDEN KNIGHTS LOOK TO EXTEND WIN STREAK
The Pacific Division-leading Golden Knights (36-22-8, 80 points) look to extend their win streak to nine games when they welcome the Kings (24-35-6, 54 points) to T-Mobile Arena, where the hosts are also 7-0-0 in their last seven outings.

* Vegas defeated Buffalo on Friday to earn its eighth straight victory and match the longest win streak in franchise history, a mark set from Dec. 14, 2017 – Jan. 2, 2018 in the midst of their historic inaugural season. Only one franchise in League history has recorded a win streak of at least nine games within its first three NHL seasons, which was the original Ottawa Senators during their third campaign from Feb. 11 – March 8, 1920 (9-0-0).
