THREE HARD LAPS

* David Perron scored another winner just hours after securing a roster spot for the 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend, where he is set to play in front of Blues fans alongside teammates Jordan Binnington, Alex Pietrangelo and Ryan O'Reilly.

* The Lightning extended their win streak to double digits via a road shutout over the Flyers, who welcomed Oskar Lindblom back to Wells Fargo Center.

* Patrick Marleau capped the 1,700th regular-season contest of his NHL career with game winner No. 108 – which tied Alex Ovechkin for seventh place on the League’s all-time list.

LIGHTNING EXTEND WIN STREAK TO DOUBLE DIGITS, MATCH FRANCHISE RECORD
Andrei Vasilevskiy turned aside all 23 shots he faced to record his second straight shutout (also Jan. 9: 4-0 W vs. ARI) and help the Lightning improve to 10-0-0 in their last 10 games. Tampa Bay matched a franchise record for longest win streak, a mark set last season from Feb. 9-27, 2019.

* The Lightning, who own the NHL’s longest active win streak, became the fourth team in League history to record a double-digit run in two-plus straight seasons.

MARLEAU, THORNTON REACH GAMES PLAYED MILESTONES IN PAVELSKI’S RETURN
On the night Stars forward Joe Pavelski returned to SAP Center, his former teammate Patrick Marleau (1-0—1) played in his 1,700th career regular-season game and became the fifth player in NHL history to reach the milestone – joining Gordie Howe (1,767), Mark Messier (1,756), Jaromir Jagr (1,733) and Ron Francis (1,731).



* Marleau skated his 831st consecutive regular-season game dating to April 9, 2009 and passed Andrew Cogliano (830 GP; Oct. 4, 2007 – Jan. 13, 2018) for sole possession of the fifth-longest “Ironman” streak in League history.

* Marleau wasn’t the only Sharks player to climb the NHL’s all-time games played list Saturday, with longtime partner in crime Joe Thornton appearing in his 1,613th career regular-season contest to pass Ray Bourque (1,612) for sole possession of 11th place in League annals.

* ICYMI: San Jose honored Pavelski, who served as its captain from 2015-16 to 2018-19, with a video tribute and standing ovation prior to puck drop.



MORE HIGHLIGHTS FROM SATURDAY

* Torey Krug assisted on the overtime winner while skating his 500th career regular-season game as the Bruins improved to 27-8-11 (65 points) this season and passed the Capitals (30-11-5, 65 points) for first place in the NHL standings. The native of Livonia, Mich. collected his 319th point – the fourth-most by a defenseman through their first 500 regular-season games with the franchise (NHL debut or otherwise) behind Bobby Orr (198-472—670), Ray Bourque (153-363—516) and Brad Park (100-316—416).

* Elias Lindholm scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season (20-16—36 in 47 GP) to help the Flames defeat the Oilers and extend their win streak to five games. Calgary (25-17-5, 55 points), which moved into first place in the Pacific Division standings, improved to 2-0-0 in its five-game season series with Edmonton (EDM: 0-2-0); the three remaining contests are set to take place on Jan. 29, Feb. 1 and April 4.

* James Reimer made 41 saves to backstop the Hurricanes, who donned vintage Hartford jerseys as part of Whalers Night at PNC Arena, to their second shutout win in as many days (also Jan. 10: 3-0 W vs. ARI). Carolina earned a shutout win on consecutive days for the second time in franchise history (also March 6-7, 2003).

* Ilya Kovalchuk scored at 4:08 of overtime – his first goal since being signed by Montreal on Jan. 3 (1-3—4 in 4 GP) – as the Canadiens defeated the Senators to snap an eight-game slide (0-7-1). Kovalchuk scored his 16th career regular-season overtime goal and tied Patrik Elias and Daniel Sedin for third place on the NHL’s all-time list.
