THREE HARD LAPS

* Dallas rallied to earn a come-from-behind win in its final game before the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, which is set to take place New Year’s Day at Cotton Bowl Stadium versus Nashville.

* Jonathan Huberdeau, who was born roughly 30 miles from Montreal, found the score sheet four times in a wild game against his hometown team as the 26-year-old continued his scorching end to the decade.

* The defending Stanley Cup champions continued their dominance of Western Conference opponents and extended their win streak to a season-high eight games.

STARS RALLY, HEAD TO WINTER CLASSIC ON WINNING NOTE
Dallas scored four unanswered goals to overcome a 2-0 third-period deficit and earn a multi-goal comeback win in its final game before the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. The Stars lead the League with six wins when trailing through two periods this season, one more than the Capitals, Flames, Jets and Panthers (all w/ 5).

* Nashville, Dallas’ opponent on Wednesday, also enters the 29th outdoor game in League history after erasing a multi-goal deficit. The Predators tied their contest on Saturday after facing deficits of 3-0 and 4-1, but ultimately fell to the Penguins by a score of 6-4.

HUBERDEAU ECLIPSES 50-POINT MARK VIA 2-2—4 OUTING . . .
Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau (2-2—4) factored on four of six Florida goals and became the ninth player to reach the 50-point mark this season (16-37—53 in 38 GP). Only one player in franchise history has reached 50 points in fewer games than Huberdeau.

* Huberdeau (Saint-Jerome, Que.) became the sixth Quebec-born player in the last 25 years (since 1994-95) to record four or more points in a game versus Montreal, joining Steve Larouche (April 3, 1995: 3-1—4), Mario Lemieux (Jan. 26, 1997: 4-0—4; March 26, 1997: 2-3—5), Martin St. Louis (Jan. 8, 2004: 2-2—4), Kris Letang (March 2, 2013: 0-4—4) and Patrice Bergeron (March 27, 2013: 1-3—4).

* Huberdeau has found the score sheet in six consecutive games (5-11—16), a run which includes three four-point outings (also Dec. 16: 0-4—4 vs. OTT; Dec. 20: 1-3—4 vs. DAL). The longest point streak of his NHL career is seven contests, a mark set from March 24 – April 5, 2016 (6-4—10) and matched Jan. 2-20, 2018 (3-7—10).

. . . AS DOMI EXTENDS GOAL STREAK TO FIVE GAMES
Skating across from Jonathan Huberdeau was Canadiens forward Max Domi (1-1—2), who extended his goal streak to a career-high five games (5-2—7) – the longest active run in the NHL. He became the first Montreal player to record at least one goal in five or more consecutive games since Max Pacioretty from Jan. 2-15, 2015 (7-1—8 in 6 GP).

* The Canadiens have been the visitors in every game of Domi’s run. He became the first player in franchise history to record a goal streak of at least five games with each contest taking place on the road; Domi eclipsed the previous mark of four games, which was achieved by Jean Beliveau from Nov. 15-26, 1959 (4-0—4), Yvan Cournoyer from Oct. 16-23, 1968 (5-1—6), Guy Lafleur from March 13-20, 1978 (6-3—9) and Andrei Kostitsyn from Feb. 13-19, 2009 (4-3—7).

* Domi, who was acquired by Montreal on June 15, 2018, collected his 100th and 101st career points with the Canadiens (39-62—101 in 121 GP). He required the fewest games to record his first 100 regular-season points with Montreal (NHL debut or otherwise) since Martin Rucinsky on Feb. 17, 1997, who reached the milestone in his 105th contest with the franchise (45-55—100).

BLUES PUSH WIN STREAK TO SEASON-HIGH EIGHT GAMES
St. Louis defeated Winnipeg in the second half of a home-and-home set to push its win streak to a season-high eight games, the longest active run in the NHL. The Blues have played intraconference opponents in every game of their win streak and are set to face Western Conference teams in each of their next four contests.

* St. Louis became the third team in the last six years (since 2013-14) to record a win streak of eight-plus games with each contest being against an intraconference opponent, joining Washington from Dec. 12-30, 2015 (9-0-0) and Nashville from Feb. 22 – March 8, 2018 (8-0-0). Three teams accomplished the feat in 2012-13 (PIT: 15-0-0; CHI: 11-0-0; WSH: 8-0-0), when clubs played a 48-game schedule which were all versus intraconference opponents.

* The Blues improved to 10-0-0 in their last 10 games against Western Conference teams and established a franchise record for longest win streak versus intraconference opponents within a regular season (since 1974-75 when teams realigned into conferences). St. Louis eclipsed its previous mark of 9-0-0 set from Feb. 3 – March 14, 1993 when they competed in the Clarence Campbell Conference.

* Alex Pietrangelo recorded his 326th career regular-season assist and passed Al MacInnis (325) for the most by a defenseman in franchise history. Pietrangelo, who extended his point streak to four games (3-4—7), now trails only three names for the most helpers among all Blues skaters.

LIGHTNING IMPROVE TO 16-0-0 IN LAST 16 GAMES VERSUS RED WINGS
The Lightning improved to 16-0-0 in their last 16 regular-season games versus the Red Wings dating to Feb. 3, 2016 (DET: 0-14-2). Tampa Bay’s run is tied for the third-longest regular-season win streak by a team against one opponent in NHL history.

* The Lightning also moved to 14-0-0 in their last 14 regular-season home games versus the Red Wings dating to Dec. 12, 2013 (DET: 0-13-1). That’s the second-longest active regular-season home win streak by a team against one franchise, behind Philadelphia’s 16-game run versus Chicago dating to March 31, 1998 (CHI: 0-15-1).

DID YOU KNOW?
Detroit general manager Steve Yzerman, who served in the same capacity with Tampa Bay from May 25, 2010 – Sept. 11, 2018, was directly responsible for the acquisition of nearly all players in the Lightning lineup Sunday (14 of 20; 70%). The only exceptions were Alex Killorn (drafted June 2007), Steven Stamkos (drafted June 2008), Victor Hedman (drafted June 2009), Curtis McElhinney (signed July 2019), Kevin Shattenkirk (signed Aug. 2019) and Pat Maroon (signed Aug. 2019).
