THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN ON NBC HIGHLIGHTS 12-GAME SLATE
A total of 24 teams are in action across a 12-game slate Friday, highlighted by the 2019 NHL Thanksgiving Showdown between the Bruins and Rangers at TD Garden.
* Bruins forwards Brad Marchand (18-25—43 in 25 GP) and David Pastrnak (23-16—39 in 25 GP) rank third and fourth place among all players in points this season, respectively, behind the Oilers tandem of Leon Draisaitl (16-32—48 in 27 GP) and Connor McDavid (18-29—47 in 27 GP).
* A point by Pastrnak Friday would make 2019-20 the first season in 45 years to feature multiple Boston players each with 40 or more points through the team’s first 26 games and fifth in franchise history overall.
* Two tallies by Marchand would mark the third season to feature multiple Bruins players each with 20 or more goals through 26 team games, following 1929-30 (Cooney Weiland: 24 G; Dit Clapper: 22 G) and 1973-74 (Phil Esposito: 30 G; Ken Hodge: 21 G).
* Boston owns a 9-0-4 (22 points) record at TD Garden, its second-longest season-opening home point streak in franchise history behind a 21-game run in 1973-74 (19-0-2, 40 points). The Bruins are the only team without a regulation loss at home in 2019-20, with goaltenders Tuukka Rask (7-0-2) and Jaroslav Halak (2-0-2) manning the crease for nine and four of their games at TD Garden, respectively.
* Rangers forward Artemi Panarin (12-20—32 in 23 GP) leads the team in points this season and has found the score sheet multiple times in nine of his last 11 games dating to Nov. 6 (6-14—20). He can become the first New York player to record multiple points 10 times in a span of 12 team games since Jean Ratelle from Nov. 13 – Dec. 9, 1971 (9-19—28).
* Panarin has collected 22 of his 32 points since Nov. 1 (7-15—22 in 13 GP), trailing only McDavid (12-12—24 in 13 GP) and Draisaitl (4-19—23 in 13 GP) for the most among all players over that span. Panarin can establish a franchise record for most points in a single month of November; he would eclipse the previous high of 22 set by Ratelle in 1971 (8-14—22 in 11 GP).
* The undrafted native of Korkino, Russia can become just the third different Rangers player over the last 23 years to record 23 or more points in any month.
* Tony DeAngelo (7-11—18 in 23 GP), who shares the third-most points among Rangers players this season, can become the first New York defenseman to reach the 20-point mark in 24 games or less since Brian Leetch in 2001-02 (6-14—20 in 24 GP).
