McDAVID, SVECHNIKOV STRETCH STREAKS IN ROAD WINS

Oilers captain Connor McDavid and Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov each collected an assist to extend their respective point streaks as their teams posted road wins.

* McDavid scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Oilers (16-7-3, 35 points) edged the Coyotes (14-8-3, 31 points) in a Pacific Division tilt and moved past the Blues (14-5-5, 33 points) for first place in the Western Conference standings.

* The 22-year-old forward has tallied 12-12—24 over the course of his 11-game point streak and sits three points shy of 50 in 2019-20 (18-29—47 in 26 GP). His 11-game stretch marks the second longest of his five-season career – three back of his personal high (7-18—25 in 14 GP from March 14 - April 9, 2017).

* Svechnikov extended his point streak to eight games (5-7—12) and became the second teenager in Hurricanes/Whalers history to record a streak of at least eight games. The other: Hartford’s Ron Francis (10 GP from Oct. 30 – Nov. 20, 1982, 9 GP from Dec. 6-23, 1982 and 9 GP from Feb. 20 – March 10, 1983).

* In his first season with Carolina, James Reimer turned aside 19 shots to record the Hurricanes’ third shutout of the season (Petr Mrazek: 11-4-1, 2.63 GAA, .903 SV% and 2 SO). Their three total shutouts are tied with the Coyotes, Bruins and Sabres for the most among all teams in 2019-20.

STREAKING STARS, ISLANDERS TAKE TO THE ICE
The Stars (14-8-2, 30 points) and Islanders (16-3-2, 34 points) are set to put their 11- and 17-game point streaks on the line when they square off against the Golden Knights and Ducks, respectively.

* Dallas, which enters Monday’s contest with a 10-0-1 record in its last 11 games, leads the League with nine wins in the month of November. The Stars, 9-0-1 since Nov. 1, have earned at least 10 or more wins in a single month on two occasions in the last decade: Nov. 2015 (10-3-0) and March 2015 (10-5-0).

* With three contests remaining in November, the streaking Stars sit three wins away from matching the franchise record for wins in any month, after they produced a 12-2-0 record during February 2008.

* Dallas’ recent string of success has benefited from the play of goaltending tandem Ben Bishop (5-0-0, 2.10 GAA and .934 SV%) and Anton Khudobin (5-0-1, 1.67 GAA and .948 SV%), who have allowed a League-low 21 goals (including shootout-deciding goals) since their team’s streak began on Oct. 29 vs. Minnesota.

* The Islanders continue their three-game road trip through California after Casey Cizikas helped New York secure at least one point for the 17th straight game dating to Oct. 12 (15-0-2). Only eight teams in the last 35 years have recorded at least one point in 18 or more straight games.

COUTURE EYES RARE COMPANY WITH ANOTHER OT GOAL
Sharks captain Logan Couture (5-19—24) leads San Jose (12-11-1, 25 points) in assists and points this season and enters Monday’s game with points in each of his last six outings (3-7—10), including the overtime winner in his last two (Nov. 21-23). Only one player in NHL history has scored the overtime goal in three consecutive team games: Andrew Cogliano (March 7-11, 2008 w/ EDM).

CANUCKS EYE FRANCHISE FIRST WITH ANOTHER SPECIAL-TEAMS GOAL
Elias Pettersson (10-19—29 in 24 GP) and the Canucks (12-8-4, 28 points) continue their six-game road trip when they travel to Wells Fargo Center to face off against the Flyers. Vancouver has scored each of its last seven goals (excluding shootout-deciding goals) on either the power play or penalty kill – tying the longest run of special-team tallies in franchise history.

* Only one team in the last decade has scored eight or more consecutive team goals on either the power play or penalty kill: Minnesota (8 from Oct. 7-16, 2010).

* Pettersson found the back of the net in each of his last two outings and sits one point shy of becoming the 10th player to reach the 30-point mark in 2019-20. Only three different Canucks players since 1999-00 have recorded 30 points in their first 25 team games of a season or fewer: Daniel Sedin (24 GP in 2009-10 and 2010-11), Henrik Sedin (24 GP in 2010-11) and Markus Naslund (25 GP in 2003-04 and 2005-06).
