ISLANDERS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO 10 GAMES
Cole Bardreau (GWG) converted on a penalty shot attempt to score the first goal of his NHL career and help the Islanders (11-3-0, 22 points) extend their win streak to 10 contests, the second-longest in franchise history behind a 15-game run set over 37 years ago from Jan. 21 – Feb. 20, 1982.

* The Islanders became the third franchise in NHL history with a gap of 36 or more seasons in between win streaks of at least 10 games (1982-83 to 2018-19), joining the Bruins (40; 1930-31 to 1969-70) and Flames (36; 1979-80 to 2015-16).

* The Islanders (91.2%; 31 of 34) became the second team since 1933-34 to record a win streak of 10 or more games with at least 90% of their goals scored at even strength (not including shootout-deciding goals). They joined the Atlanta Flames (90.9%; 50 of 55), who went 10-0-0 from Oct. 14 – Nov. 3, 1978.

* Bardreau (1-1—2 in 7 GP), an undrafted native of Fairport, N.Y., became the seventh player since 1934-35 to score his first career NHL goal on a penalty shot.

PASTRNAK SCORES LEAGUE-LEADING 15TH GOAL TO REACH 30 POINTS
Bruins forward David Pastrnak scored his League-leading 15th goal of 2019-20 to become the first NHL player to reach the 30-point mark this season (15-15—30 in 15 GP).

* Pastrnak became the third player in franchise history to reach the 30-point mark in 15 or fewer games, joining Phil Esposito in 1973-74 (18-13—31 in 13 GP) and Bobby Orr in 1974-75 (9-21—30 in 14 GP). The 23-year-old native of Havirov, Czech Republic also became the first Bruins player to score 15 or more goals through the team’s first 15 games in a season since Peter McNab in 1976-77 (15-6—21).

* The 2019-20 season marks the first time a Boston player was the first in the NHL to reach the 30-point mark since Orr in the campaign noted above. A player of Czech Republic nationality was the first to 30 points for the fourth time in NHL history, following Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr (Kladno, Czech Republic) in 1994-95 (14-16—30 in 18 GP) and 1999-00 (14-16—30 in 14 GP ) as well as Philadelphia’s Jakub Voracek (Kladno, Czech Republic) in 2014-15 (8-22—30 in 21 GP).

* Pastrnak extended his point streak to a career-high 13 contests (15-15—30), the longest by a Bruins player since Phil Kessel had an 18-game run from Nov. 13 – Dec. 21, 2008 (14-14—28).

David Pastrnak has 13 more points than Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov did through Tampa Bay’s first 15 games in 2018-19 (7-10—17). Kucherov would go on to reach the 100-point mark in his 62nd contest (30-70—100), requiring the fewest games to hit the milestone since Pittsburgh’s Mario Lemieux 22 years prior in 1996-97 (44-56—100 in 61 GP).

SCHWARTZ SCORES OVERTIME WINNER AS BLUES MOVE INTO FIRST IN WEST
Jaden Schwartz scored the overtime winner as the Blues (10-3-3, 23 points) extended their win streak to five games and leapfrogged the idle Oilers (10-4-2, 22 points) for first place in the Western Conference standings. St. Louis and Edmonton are set to square off tonight at Rogers Place.

* The Blues, who have won each of their last three games in overtime, reached the 10-win mark in their 16th game – a plateau they did not hit in 2018-19 until their 27th contest on Dec. 7 (10-13-4, 24 points). St. Louis earned wins in three consecutive games all in overtime for the second time in franchise history (also March 17-21, 2018).

* Schwartz scored his fifth career regular-season overtime goal to tie Brett Hull for fourth place on the franchise’s all-time list, trailing Vladimir Tarasenko (10), Pavol Demitra (7) and Keith Tkachuk (6).

VETERANS CHARA, MARLEAU REACH GAMES PLAYED MILESTONES
Bruins captain Zdeno Chara and Sharks forward Patrick Marleau (1-0—1) – two of three active NHL players currently skating in their 22nd season (also Joe Thornton) – both reached games played milestones Tuesday.

* Chara skated in the 1,500th regular-season game of his NHL career. He became the 21st player in League history to reach the milestone and just the sixth defenseman; each of the previous five have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

* Marleau skated in his 800th consecutive regular-season game dating to April 9, 2009. He became the sixth player in NHL history to record an “Ironman” streak of at least 800 contests.

* Chara, Marleau and Thornton are the only active NHL players who have contested a game in the 1990s. Click here for an in-depth look at some of the happenings when they made their League debut 22 years ago.

* Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester also skated in the 1,200th regular-season game of his NHL career. He ranks fourth among active NHL players in regular-season games played behind Marleau (1,669), Thornton (1,582) and Chara (1,500).

CANADIENS SNAP BRUINS’ WIN STREAK AS JULIEN CLIMBS ALL-TIME LISTS
Victor Mete (2-0—2) recorded the first multi-goal game of his NHL career to help the Canadiens snap the Bruins’ win streak at six games as Claude Julien earned his 635th career regular-season victory.

* Julien, who was Boston’s head coach from June 22, 2007 – Feb. 7, 2017, passed Darryl Sutter (634) for sole possession of 14th place on the NHL’s all-time regular-season wins list. Tuesday also marked Julien’s 1,200th career regular-season game as an NHL head coach – becoming the 19th in League history to reach the milestone.
