ETS RALLY LATE TO EARN FRANCHISE’S FIRST OUTDOOR WIN
Trailing 1-0 late in the third period, Josh Morrissey tied the game with 4:11 remaining in regulation to set the stage for Bryan Little’s overtime winner as the Jets capped a memorable evening at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan with a victory in the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic - their first outdoor win (1-1-0).



* This marked the seventh regular-season outdoor game to require extra time, and second consecutive following the 2019 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series.

* The Jets earned the 14th comeback win – and third straight – in the NHL’s 28 regular-season outdoor games to date (50.0%).

* Little, who has spent his entire 13-season NHL career with the Jets/Thrashers and holds the franchise mark for games played (839), netted his seventh career overtime goal. Only three other skaters have as many overtime markers in franchise history: Ilya Kovalchuk (9), Mark Scheifele (8) and Dustin Byfuglien (7).

* Patrik Laine posted his team-leading 10th assist of 2019-20 on Morrissey’s tying goal to become the sixth player in franchise history to record 10+ assists in the team’s first 12 games of a season – and third to do so since the club relocated to Winnipeg (also Blake Wheeler in 2017-18 and Toby Enstrom in 2012-13).

* Flames goaltender David Rittich made 43 saves – the most ever by a goaltender in a regular-season outdoor game.

* Temperature at puck drop was -2.5°C/27.4°F – marking the ninth NHL outdoor game with a puck-drop temperature below 0°C/32°F. The coldest was at the 2003 Heritage Classic in Edmonton (-18°C/0°F).

* A sell-out crowd of 33,518 took in the snow globe-like atmosphere at Mosaic Stadium. Total attendance for the NHL’s 28 outdoor contests now stands at 1,492,877 – an average of 53,317 per game. The five Heritage Classics have drawn total attendance of 219,141 – an average of 43,828 per game.

* The ceremonial puck drop was a celebration of indigenous hockey in Canada including Fred Sasakamoose, one of the first indigenous players in the NHL, Brigette Lacquette, the first indigenous player on Canada’s Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team and two local youth hockey players alongside Flames alumnus Lanny McDonald and Thomas Steen – who spent his entire 14-season career with the original Winnipeg Jets.

BRUINS BLANK BLUES IN STANLEY CUP FINAL REMATCH
David Pastrnak scored his League-leading 11th goal of 2019-20 (11-7—18 in 10 GP) to help the Bruins blank the Blues in their first head-to-head meeting since Game 7 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. Pastrnak became the eighth player in the last 27 years to score 11 or more goals through his team’s first 10 games in a season.

* Pastrnak extended his point streak to eight games (11-7—18), scoring at least one goal in each of his last five outings (9-3—12) – the longest goal streak of his NHL career.

* Boston improved to 4-0-1 at TD Garden this season, earning points in each of its first five or more home games in a season for the first time since 2001-02 (5-0-2).

MORE HIGHLIGHTS FROM SATURDAY

* The Flyers scored five unanswered goals in the third period to erase a 4-2 deficit and snap the Blue Jackets’ point streak at six games (4-0-2). Philadelphia’s victory was the 10th third-period multi-goal comeback win of 2019-20, the most through the first 169 games in a season in NHL history.

* Nathan MacKinnon (1-0—1) extended his season-opening point streak to 11 games (6-9—15), the longest such run by an Avalanche player since the club relocated to Colorado in 1995-96 and the fifth-longest in franchise history. Sebastian Aho (12 GP in 2018-19) is the only player since 2008-09 to post a longer season-opening point streak.

* Roman Josi (1-2—3) scored the tying goal late in the third period and Ryan Ellis notched the overtime winner as the Predators improved to 10-0-2 in their last 12 games versus Tampa Bay dating to Feb. 27, 2014 (TBL: 2-7-3), their longest active regular-season point streak against one opponent. Josi (5-8—13) and Ellis (2-11—13) became the first teammate defensemen to each record 13 or more points through 11 team games in a season since 1992-93, when Phil Housley (3-12—15) and Fredrik Olausson (3-10—13) did so with the original Winnipeg Jets.

* Dougie Hamilton assisted on the game-winning goal by Andrei Svechnikov (2-0—2) as the Hurricanes blanked the Blackhawks to improve to 4-1-0 at PNC Arena this season. Hamilton leads Carolina with 12 points this season (6-6—12 in 11 GP), one shy of the most by a Hurricanes/Whalers defenseman through the team’s first 11 games in a season – a mark set by Hartford’s Risto Siltanen in 1984-85 (2-11—13).

* Montreal jumped to a 2-0 lead before Toronto tied the game, but Nick Suzuki scored one of three unanswered Canadiens goals to help them earn their first regulation win versus the Maple Leafs since Jan. 7, 2017 (5-3 W). Suzuki, 20, has scored three goals in his last five games.

ISLANDERS LOOK TO EXTEND WIN STREAK TO SEVEN GAMES
The Islanders (7-3-0, 14 points) look to extend their win streak to seven games when they host the Flyers (5-3-1, 11 points) at NYCB Live/Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. New York has earned wins in seven or more consecutive games six times in franchise history, most recently from Dec. 31, 1989 – Jan. 19, 1990 (9-0-0).

* The Islanders’ longest win streak in franchise history is 15 games, set from Jan. 21 – Feb. 20, 1982. Mike Bossy (10-23—33) and Bryan Trottier (19-12—31) each collected at least 30 points through the 15-game run, a few months before leading New York to its third of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships.
