LUNDQVIST MAKES HISTORY WITH SECOND STRAIGHT 50-SAVE WIN

Following a 50-save performance in his last outing (Feb. 28 at VAN: 6-5 OT W), Henrik Lundqvist made 50 saves again to backstop the Rangers to their second straight win on the heels of a seven-game slide (0-6-1).

* Lundqvist, who celebrated his 36th birthday on Friday, became the third goaltender to make at least 50 saves in consecutive appearances (since 1955-56 when shots on goal became an official NHL statistic). Lundqvist, however, is the only goaltender to earn wins in each game.

* Lundqvist became the first goaltender to record multiple 50-save wins with the Rangers (since 1955-56). He became the first netminder to post multiple 50-save wins in a season since Roberto Luongo in 2003-04 (2x w/ FLA).

MacKINNON (FIVE POINTS) POWERS AVALANCHE’S SEVEN-GOAL OUTBURST

Nathan MacKinnon (2-3—5) factored on five of Colorado’s seven goals to power the Avalanche (35-24-5, 75 points) to a 13-1-0 record in their last 14 home games. Colorado is one point back of Anaheim (32-21-12, 76 points) for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

* MacKinnon posted his second five-point game of 2017-18 (also Nov. 16 vs. WSH: 1-4—5) and became the first Avalanche player to record at least five points in a game multiple times in a season since Paul Stastny in 2007-08 (2x). He joined Islanders rookie Mathew Barzal (3x) as the only players to record multiple five-point games in 2017-18.

* MacKinnon has established single-season career highs for goals, assists and points with 31-45—76 in 2017-18 (56 GP). He became the first Avalanche player to score more than 30 goals in a season since 2006-07, when Joe Sakic (36) and Milan Hejduk (35) did so.

* MacKinnon has scored a career-high 10 game-winning goals this season, trailing only Calgary’s Sean Monahan (11) for the most in 2017-18. Only two players in Avalanche/Nordiques franchise history have scored more such goals in a season: Michel Gouletin 1983-84 (16) and Sakic in 2000-01 (12).

JETS MATCH FRANCHISE RECORD FOR MOST HOME WINS IN A SEASON

Patrik Laine scored twice to extend his point streak to seven games (8-5—13) and help the Jets (38-17-9, 85 points) improve to 6-2-0 in their last eight contests. Winnipeg is second in the Central Division, six points back of Nashville (41-14-9, 91 points) for first place.

* The Jets improved to 24-7-2 (50 points) at Bell MTS Place in 2017-18 and matched their franchise record for most home wins in a season, a mark set by the Thrashers in 2005-06. The most home wins in a season by the original Winnipeg Jets was 25, a mark set in 1986-87 (25-12-3, 53 points).

* Laine (33-22—55), who scored 36 goals as a rookie in 2016-17, has 69 career goals and will celebrate his 20th birthday on April 19; only five players in NHL history have scored more goals as a teenager.

* Connor Hellebuyck (30 saves) improved to 33-10-8 in 2017-18 (2.40 GAA, .921 SV%, 6 SO) and moved within one win of matching the franchise record for most in a season by a goaltender, a mark set by Kari Lehtonen in 2006-07 (34 w/ ATL).

PREDATORS RALLY TO EXTEND WIN STREAK TO SEVEN GAMES

Ryan Ellis (1-1—2) tied the game with 2:15 remaining in regulation and Calle Jarnkrok (1-1—2) scored in overtime as the Western Conference-leading Predators (41-14-9, 91 points) earned their seventh straight victory, the longest active win streak in the NHL. Nashville recorded a win streak of at least seven games for the third time in franchise history.

* Nashville also extended its road point streak to 11 games (8-0-3), the second-longest such run in franchise history (13 GP in 2015-16: 10-0-3).

* Mike Fisher, who recently announced his intention to end his retirement, scored in his return to the Predators lineup. Nashville signed him to a one-year contract on Feb. 26.

HURRICANES MOVE INTO FINAL WILD CARD SPOT . . .

Teuvo Teravainen scored the go-ahead goal at 9:37 of the third period as the Hurricanes (29-25-11, 69 points) picked up their second straight win on the heels of a six-game slide (0-4-2). Carolina moved past Columbus (32-28-5, 69 points) for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

* Teravainen has netted the game winner in each of the Hurricanes’ last two contests. He has established single-season career highs in goals, assists and points with 18-33—51 in 2017-18 (65 GP).

. . . PANTHERS KEEP PACE IN PURSUIT OF A PLAYOFF POSITION

Four different skaters found the back of the net to help the Panthers (31-25-6, 68 points) extend their win streak to five games and improve to 12-3-0 in their last 15 outings. Florida remained a point back of Carolina.

* Aleksander Barkov (1-0—1) extended his point streak to five games (4-4—8), including at least one goal in each of his last three outings. Barkov has collected 24-38—62 overall this season (61 GP), including 13-16—29 since Jan. 1 (24 GP).

HALL SCORES TO EXTEND STREAKS

Devils forward Taylor Hall scored to extend his point streak to 17 games (12-10—22), marking his 24th consecutive appearance with a point dating to Jan. 2 (17-17—34).

* Hall, who began his 17-game point streak upon his return from a three-game absence on Jan. 30, is the first player in Devilsfranchise history to record at least one point in 17 consecutive team games. His point streak is the longest in the NHL this season.

* Hall’s stretch of 24 consecutive appearances with at least one point also is the longest such run in Devils franchise history. He is just the eighth different player in the last 30 years (since 1987-88) to record at least one point in 24 or more consecutive appearances.

* Hall leads the Devils with 29-41—70 overall in 2017-18 (60 GP). He reached the 70-point mark in a season for the second time in his NHL career and became the first Devils player to hit the plateau since 2011-12, when Ilya Kovalchuk (37-46—83) and Patrik Elias (26-52—78) did so.

GALCHENYUK (HAT TRICK) HELPS CANADIENS EXTEND POINT STREAK

Alex Galchenyuk (3-1—4) found the back of the net three times to snap a 15-game goal drought and help the Canadiens extend their point streak to six contests (3-0-3). Galchenyuk scored the second hat trick of his NHL career (also Dec. 16, 2014 vs. CAR).
