Reilly Smith (2-0—2) tied the game in the third period and Alex Tuch (1-1—2) scored the go-ahead goal with 5:12 remaining in regulation to help the Western Conference-leading Golden Knights improve to 35-13-4 (74 points) this season and move within one point of the League-leading Lightning (36-13-3, 75 points), who were idle on Sunday.

* Fleury (20 saves) earned his 390th career win to pass Dominik Hasek (389) for sole possession of 13th place in NHL history.

* Price (25 saves) earned his 285th career win to pass Tiny Thompson (284) for sole possession of 40th place in NHL history.

DELL BACKSTOPS SHARKS TO VICTORY

Aaron Dell made 29 saves to backstop the Sharks to their second straight win on the heels of a four-game slide (0-2-2). Dell improved to 13-4-2 this season (2.44 GAA, .919 SV%, 2 SO), including a 5-1-1 mark in his last seven appearances dating to Jan. 13.

TROTZ PASSES RUFF FOR FIFTH-MOST GAMES AS HEAD COACH

Washington’s Barry Trotz coached his 1,494th career regular-season game to pass Lindy Ruff (1,493) for sole possession of fifth place on the NHL’s all-time list among head coaches.

Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne looks to extend his personal win streak while Islanders forward Mathew Barzal aims to join rare company when Nashville (31-12-7, 69 points) visits New York (26-22-5, 57 points) at Barclays Center.

* Rinne has posted a 7-0-0 mark in his last seven appearances dating to Jan. 6 (1.56 GAA, .943 SV%, 2 SO) and aims to earn wins in at least eight consecutive games for the second time in his NHL career (11-0-0 from Jan. 7 – Feb. 4, 2012). Only two goaltenders have recorded a win streak of at least eight games this season: Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevskiy (9-0-0 from Oct. 9-30, 2017) and Colorado’s Jonathan Bernier (9-0-0 from Dec. 31, 2017 – Jan. 22, 2018).

* The Islanders, meanwhile, feature three players averaging at least one point per game in 2017-18 including Barzal, who leads all rookies in assists and points with 16-37—53 this season (53 GP). Barzal is three helpers shy of becoming the fourth rookie in franchise history to reach the 40-assist mark in a season. The others: Bryan Trottier in 1975-76 (63), Stefan Persson in 1977-78 (50) and Bryan Berard in 1996-97 (40).
