from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
Still without the injured Jaden Schwartz, Alexander Steen, Pat Maroon, Carl Gunnarsson and Robert Bortuzzo, the loss was the third in a row for St. Louis and its fifth in six games. They are 7-10-3 for the season, and to put that in perspective, they didn't lose their 10th game (in regulation) until Game 33 last season on Dec. 14.
Nashville, meanwhile, boosted its league-leading record to 16-5-1, winning their sixth in a row over St. Louis even though the Predators were missing injured stars P.K. Subban and Viktor Arvidsson.
"That was a hard game," Berube said. "I thought we competed for 60 minutes, just didn't get the result. But we've got to do a better job of screening goalies and getting some dirty goals around the net. We gotta get better in that area."
At least the Blues scored a goal. That's right, after 155 minutes 27 without one — or nearly eight periods of ice hockey — the Blues got on the board with 19-year-old Robert Thomas scoring his first NHL goal.
