from Paul Skribina of The Tennessean,
Nashville Predators goalie David Rittich started his first NHL playoff game, replacing All-Star Juuse Saros, who will miss at least the first two games of the series with a lower-body injury.
Rittich lasted 15 minutes, 4 seconds before he was pulled in favor of Connor Ingram, making his first Stanley Cup playoff appearance, after the Predators allowed five goals on 13 shots in what turned out to be a 7-2 Colorado Avalanche victory in Game 1 of their first-round meeting at Ball Arena.
The Avalanche scored early, every which way and often, recording goals via the power play, at even strength and shorthanded during the first 9½ minutes. Oh, and another during a 5-on-3 during the second period on what appeared to be an own goal by Nashville.
